`
`Tractor wiring may differ. Check your
`tractor manufacturers” electrical diagram
`to match to the Tri—Flex Merger‘s wiring.
`
`There are several requirementsthe tractor must have to
`ensure efficient operation of the Tri—Flex Merger.
`
`1.The tractor must be equipped with a 7-pin connector
`for proper transport and warning light function.
`
`2. The tractor must be equipped with a 1000 RPM 1-3i8”
`21 spline or 1-3i'4“ 20 spline PTO.
`
`3. The tractor must be equipped with a category 2, 3N2
`or 3 three point hitch (Quick Hitch would be most
`desirable).
`
`4. The tractor must also be equipped with a 3-Pil'l
`convenience outlet that is operated by tractor keyed
`power.
`
`
`TRACTOR HOOK UP
`
`3-Point
`
`Determine if your tractor has category 2, 3Nf2 or 3, three point hitch. This will tell which position the
`merger hitch arms need to be in. The width of the hitch arms can be changed by removing pin (A) and
`pulling out arm (B) and turning it over and reinserting the arm and installing pin (A). Repeat this on the
`other side. Make sure both sides are the same. Once the category is determined connect the tractor
`3—Point to the merger. Make sure both clip pins are installed in pin (A). If category 2 three point hitch is
`used the hitch lift pins diameter can be changed by removing bail clip pin (C) and slide tube (D). Re-insert
`pin (C) in desired location. If tractor is equipped with a quick coupler make sure latches are engaged.

`

`

`
`Category 2, 3N2
`
`D
`
`
`
`IMPORTANT:
`
`The operating length of the PTO shaft needs to be 18" to 24” from center ofjoint tojoint. To achieve this
`length remove pin (A) and side the hitch arm (B) in or out and re-insert pin (A) into the series of holes
`provided in the hitch arm. Repeat this on the other side. Make sure both sides are set the same.

`
`Connect three hydraulic hoses to the tractor. The one
`large hose (F) is for the rear axle raise and lower. Couple
`this hose to the number one tractor remote outlet. This
`
`will be used mainly on each end of the field to raise and
`lower the merger. The two smaller hoses (G) are the
`supply pressure for the unfold, fold and floatation
`circuit. The return line is equipped with a low restriction
`couplerto prevent reverse hydraulic flow.

`
`1. Install the merger main power supply cable direct to the
`tractor 12V batteries. Route the power supply cable so it
`will be in the center of the tractor at the rear for easy
`access when hooking the mergerto the tractor. Attach the
`power supply cable securely, making sure it will not
`interfere with tractor functions. The power supply cable is
`protected by it’s own 50 amp fuse.
`
`2. Mount the control box in a convenient position in the cab
`for easy operator access. A bracket is included with the
`control box to aid this process
`
`3. Connect the power supply cable (H) on the tractor
`(Previously covered under tractor setup section) with the
`merger. Connect the 4-pin round connectorto the control
`box. Make sure the connector lines up with the grove on
`the control box. DO NOT Force the connection. Connect
`the 3-Pin cable to the tractor conVenience outlet. This
`
`connection is only used fora keyed power supply for main
`power relay.

`PREPARING FOR OPERATION
`
`TRACTOR HOOK UP
`
`Parking Stand
`
`Remove weight from the parking stand by slightly raising the tractor 3—point hitch. Squeeze the two
`spring loaded IeVers (I) togetherto unlock thejack. Pivot thejack stand toward the rear of the merger and
`release the spring loaded levers. The pins will then lock into place. Make sure that both pins are fully
`engaged into the jack stand.
`
`
`
`
`
`Pole Hei ht Ad'ustment
`
`To ensure proper merger operation and
`machine longevity the distance from flat J
`ground to the top of the pole (J) must be
`between 82" and 84” with 83” being the ideal
`setting. Adjust the tractor 3-point height to
`achieve this distance. Lock the tractor 3-pointt
`into this position.
`
`Tire Pressure
`Check tires and inflate to recommended
`
`
`
`pressure. The reartires should be inflated to
`40 PSI.

`OPERATION
`
`Note: To operate these functions, the tractor remote outlet
`must be engaged in the proper direction.

`Information
`
`These groups will help the operator know what area

`areas are during the field mode and transport mode.
`
`
`
`Head Function Group
`
`The pickup heads are controlled by the buttons in the
`head function group. These buttons are set up lefl to
`right corresponding to each pickup. These buttons
`have up and down arrows forthe left, center and right
`heads. Depending on the mode the buttons will be
`backlit green or orange to inform the operator of each
`heads state.
`
`Cross Conveyor Function Group
`
`The cross conveyors are controlled by the buttons in
`the cross conveyor function group. These buttons
`correspond to the direction of crop discharge. They
`will be backlit green in the direction of discharge. The
`center button will be backlit red when the cross
`
`conveyors are stopped.
`Note: When the conveyors are stopped, the pickups
`will continue to run as long astractor PTO is engaged.

`OPERATION
`
`CONTROL BOX
`
`Float Adjust Mode
`
`As field conditions change there may be a situation Were
`the operator may want the pickup heads to have less
`weight on the ground. The pickup floatation can be
`changed by holding the center head up and down arrow
`buttons (A), simultaneously for 6 seconds. All the head
`buttons will turn green. The floatation can be changed on
`each individual head by pushing the up or down arrow
`button for the corresponding head once and this will
`change the ground pressure by 1%. The operator
`may get back to the factory settings by holding the right
`head up and down arrow buttons (B) in together for 6
`seconds.
`Note: The same can be done forthe center and left heads.
`
`Holding button (C) for 6 seconds will exit the float adjust
`mode.
`
`Wing Gap Adjustment
`
`The gap betweenthe outside heads and center head can
`be adjusted while in the working position. This may need
`to be done if a cylinder has been replaced orthere is pin
`wear over time. To get into this mode, the operator must
`press and hold the up and down arrow buttons (A) for 6
`seconds for the head that needs to be adjusted (press
`the other two button to adjust the other head). Once in
`the mode, the gap can be adjusted buy pressing the up
`and down buttons. Pressing the up button will make the
`gap wider. pressing down will make the gap narrower.
`Only pressthe button onetime per adjustment. Trying to
`achieve to narrow of a gap will cause the head to never
`achieve position. This will result in the head not going to
`the work position when unfolding. Oncethe new position
`is achieved, the operator may press the Steering button
`(B) for6 seconds to get out of Head Gap Adjust Mode.
`
`Cross Conveyor Mode
`
`In heavy crop conditions the operator may want smaller
`windrows. This can be accomplished by changing the
`cross conveyor mode. To change the mode simply double
