The technology underpinning Docket Alarm's docket analysis comes from a decade-long R&D effort at legal-tech company Judicata. The technology parses legal language, analyzing the sentence context to determine pleading type, motion type, and disposition, e.g., granted, denied, and partial.
When a pleading is identified, we assign one of over 200 open data tags. The tags themselves are part of an open standard, SALI's LMSS 2.0. Tag information is available via free API download.
