`
`1. A method for cloning a session that includes a presentation of a continuous media resource on a first device set, the method
`comprising:
`
`accessing via a programmed computer a session state record that includes continuous media resource identity data and a
`designation of a particular time position in the presentation of the continuous media resource on the first device set;
`
`facilitating via the programmed computer the cloning of the session associated with the accessed session state record to produce
`a cloned session at a second device set, the cloned session including a presentation of the continuous media resource on the
`second device set from a target presentation time position derived from the designation of the particular time position;
`
`prior to the start of the cloned session, enabling the presentation at the first device set to be stopped based on a first user input
`received from at least one of the first device set and the second device set;
`
`prior to the start of the cloned session, enabling options for the target presentation time position for the cloned session to be
`adjusted, wherein the options include at least an option to make an adjustment and an option to make no adjustment, based on
`receipt of a second user input from at least one of the first device set and the second device set; and
`
`in the event that the presentation of the continuous media resource on the first device set was not stopped in response to the first
`user input, continuing the presentation of the continuous media resource on the first device set after the cloning subject to user
`control of time position of the presentation of the continuous media resource on the first device set independently of user control of
`time position of the presentation of the continuous media resource on the second device set, and
`
`wherein the continuous media resource is to be viewed by a consumer.

`
`1. A method for cloning a
`session that includes a
`presentation of a
`continuous media
`resource on a first device
`set, the method
`comprising:
`
`Netflix provides services that allow consumers to stream
`video content (i.e., a session that includes a presentation of a
`continuous resource) to a mobile device and/or a smart
`television or television coupled to a media streaming device.
`The Netflix services support resuming presentation of video
`content viewed on a mobile device (i.e., a first device set) on
`a smart television/television coupled to a media streaming
`device (i.e., cloning a session that includes a presentation of
`a continuous media resource on a first device set).

`session state record that
`includes continuous media
`resource identity data and
`a designation of a
`particular time position in
`the presentation of the
`continuous media
`resource on the first
`device set;
`
`When a consumer launches Netflix and/or selects video
`content (i.e., a continuous media resource) that the
`consumer has previously viewed on a mobile device (i.e., first
`device set), Netflix services access and provide to a second
`device set (e.g., smart television, television coupled to a
`streaming media device) a record that includes resource
`identity data for the video content (e.g., program
`identification) and a time position for the video content’s
`presentation on the mobile device (e.g., a point where the
`presentation of the video was paused or stopped on a mobile
`device, a time at or just prior to where the video is being
`viewed on the mobile device).

`
`Netflix services facilitate cloning of the session at the second
`device set (e.g., television coupled to a media streaming
`device). The cloned session includes presentation of the
`video content on the second device set (e.g., television
`coupled to an Apple TV) from a position derived from the time
`position of the video content’s presentation on the mobile
`device (e.g., point where the presentation of the video was
`paused or stopped on a mobile device, time at or just prior to
`where the video is being viewed on the mobile device).
`

`programmed computer the
`cloning of the session

`session at a second
`device set, the cloned
`session including a

`device set from a target
`presentation time position

`prior to the start of the
`cloned session, enabling
`the presentation at the first
`device set to be stopped
`based on a first user input
`received from at least one
`of the first device set and
`the second device set;
`
`Netflix services allow a consumer to stop presentation of
`video content on a mobile device (i.e., the first device set)
`based on a user input received from the mobile device before
`play is resumed on the smart television/television coupled to
`a media streaming device (i.e., prior to the start of the cloned

`(e.g., fast forward, rewind, scrubbing) on the mobile device
`independent from control of the time position of the video
`content on the smart television/television coupled to a
