` DALLAS, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Heart Association's
` Scientifc Sessions 2004 meeting, scheduled Nov. 7-10, 2004, in New Orleans,
` La., will feature more than 3,500 abstracts and a variety of invited programs
` and lectures and investigative reports.
` During this large-scale event with an anticipated 30,000 attendees or
` more, the American Heart Association will host presentations representative of
` all felds of cardiovascular and related disciplines.
` "The American Heart Association has kept up with the demand for change and
` ways to make the increased amount of information being discovered on
` cardiovascular disease to be readily available," said Raymond J. Gibbons,
` M.D., Chairman of the Committee on Scientifc Sessions Program. "We continue
` to view Scientifc Sessions as providing a forum that will improve the quality
` of patient care."
` This year, American Heart Association will introduce Sessions Science
` OnDemand(SM), a new tool that will allow Sessions attendees to view more than
` 1,700 basic, clinical and population science abstracts and invited
` presentations at their leisure after returning home. Online access begins
` November 15 and is available for an entire year. In addition, a CD-ROM
` companion set is available for order by all attendees who purchase the online
` option.
` The Sessions Science OnDemand(SM) tool has the added beneft of allowing
` the user to search presentations by keywords and sort presentations by
` speaker, date or title. In addition to the online and CD-ROM tool, attendees
` can also enjoy other new aspects of Sessions.
` The popular "meeting within a meeting" approach brings other additions,
` such as Clinical Practice 2004. This is a special session that focuses on

` current standards of care for practicing clinicians and the new Translational
` Science 2004 sessions held throughout the meeting will bring together basic
` scientists and clinicians interested in stem cells, biomarkers, heart failure,

` Society, Electrophysiology 2004, has been added due to the success of last
` year's Sunday morning program on echocardiography. Again, this year the AHA
` will be offering pre-sessions symposiums on Friday and/or Saturday before
