`Pursuant to 37 C.F.R. § 42.10(c), the Patent Owner (“Power Integrations”)
`
`respectfully requests that the Board recognize Howard G. Pollack as counsel pro
`
`hac vice in this proceeding. Patent Owner seeks the counsel of Howard G. Pollack
`
`due to his experience in representing Power Integrations in other patent-related
`
`matters and particularly due to his familiarity with the substantive and technical
`
`issues involved in this proceeding.
`
`Petitioner does not oppose this motion.
`
`Statement of Facts
`
`Mr. Pollack is a patent litigation attorney with more than 20 years of
`
`experience representing clients in cases involving mechanical devices, optical
`
`devices, electrical devices, computer hardware, computer software, the Internet,
`
`and semiconductors. Mr. Pollack regularly litigates patent cases before the United
`
`States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, various federal district courts, and
`
`the International Trade Commission. Through his practice in such cases, Mr.
`
`Pollack has gained substantial experience in jury trials, bench trials, discovery,
`
`Markman hearings, and appeals. He has also been substantively involved in
`
`developing technical and legal arguments, and working with technical experts and
`
`inventors. Mr. Pollack began his legal career considering patent cases as a clerk
`
`for the Honorable Judge H. Robert Mayer on the United States Court of Appeals
`

`for the Federal Circuit from 1992-1994. Power Integrations provides Appendix A
`
`to Mr. Pollack’s declaration, as evidence of Mr. Pollack’s biography.
`
`Mr. Pollack also has particular experience and familiarity with the
`
`substantive and technical issues involved in this inter partes review proceeding.
`
`Mr. Pollack has particular experience relevant to the patent-at-issue, having been
`
`having been co-lead counsel on one case involving this patent, a currently pending
`
`suit adverse to Fairchild in the District of Delaware.
`
`Mr. Pollack has also served as counsel for Patent Owner since 1998 in
`
`intellectual property matters involving, among others, power supply integrated
`
`circuit controller technology. In the litigation matters, Mr. Pollack has overseen all
`
`phases of the litigation cases from discovery through claim construction, including
`
`expert discovery and trial. Moreover, through his representation in the related
`
`matters, Power Integrations has developed a particular relationship with Mr.
`
`Pollack such that Power Integrations desires to continue the relationship with Mr.
`
`Pollack for the purpose of this proceeding.
