A status conference was held before District Judge John W. deGravelles on March 25, 2025, with the following participants: PRESENT: Jeremy Evan Maltz, Louis M. Grossman Connell Lee Archey, Keith Fernandez, Randal J. Robert, Carey Jones Counsel for Plaintiff Counsel for Defendants Counsel for Plaintiff believes that discovery is not necessary to resolve the Preliminary Injunction Motion.
In contrast, counsel for Defendants believes that discovery is necessary to ensure the record is fully developed.
Counsel for Defendants indicates his client is willing to delay the implementation of the Act, scheduled for July 1, 2025, to allow for an orderly process in this case.
Counsel for Plaintiff appreciates the Attorney General’s willingness to delay implementation and will work with Defendants to establish a discovery and briefing schedule for the Preliminary Injunction Motion and to discuss Rule 26(f) disclosures.
If the parties do not require the Court's attention, they may file a joint motion for a scheduling order, which may include a request to cancel the April 2, 2025, status conference.
