On November 20, 2024, the Court requested that respondents file a response to the petition.
The School Respondents subsequently engaged Ropes & Gray LLP as counsel to assist with the preparation of the requested response, which is presently due on December 20, 2024.
In addition to affording new counsel the time necessary to become familiar with the case, this extension will give respondents time, during a period with numerous other professional obligations as well as the intervening holiday season, to coordinate on a single response to the petition.
1 Ms. Tucker is referred to as “Acting Principal” of the Nichols Middle School in the case caption and petition.
Respondents also note that petitioner previously requested a 30-day extension to file the petition, which the Court granted.
