Document SECURE CLOUD STORAGE DISTRIBUTION AND AGGREGATION, 14/94,484, No. LMAQPE1YGREENX4 (U.S. Pat. App. Sep. 8, 2023)
Herrmann (Ex. 1005) Herrmanndiscloses a gateway server 350 that controls accessof client machinesto protected data resources 390 by verifying accessis authorized as illustrated in Figure 3, which is reproduced below.
Petitioner contends that Cidon taught or suggested searchable encryptedfiles because users could accessa file or folder by browsing a webservice accountusing an API to perform a document search.
Ife]: “storing, by the gateway device, the searchable encryptedfile on the one or more cloud platforms based on thepolicy; and” Petitioner contendsthat the gateway device ofthe combination would have functionality of Cidon’s managementserver and would store encrypted files on a cloud platform based on the policy via a connection to consumer- basedfile repositories through APIs or web access, e.g., by sending multiple encryptedfile segments to the storage service.
Patent 9,280,678 B2 m. Motivation to combine Cidon and Herrmann Petitioner asserts that a skilled artisan would haveadded Herrmann’s gateway server and accesspolicy assignmentto Cidon’s managementserver to allow automatic policy assignment, improve system efficiency, offer real- time protection, andreduce human errorspredictably.
Petitioner contendsthat a skilled artisan would have used Chambers’ gateway to implement Auradkar’s “assigning” and other claimed functions and automatically assign the pertinent security policies because an enterprise has different users who use multiple devices to access cloud data.
