No. 912 ORDER EXTENDING DEADLINE FOR (1) PARTIES TO FILE STIPULATION TO REDUCTION IN ATTORNEYS' FEES ...

Document In Re: PersonalWeb Technologies, LLC et al, 5:18-md-02834, No. 912 (N.D.Cal. Nov. 22, 2023)
On November 16, 2023, the Court heard oral argument on Amazon.com, Inc., Amazon Web Services, Inc., and Twitch Interactive, Inc.’s (collectively, “Amazon”) Motion for Further Supplemental Fees (the “Motion”).
1 All ECF citations refer to the docket of the lead case, In re PersonalWeb Technologies Patent Litigation, No. 18-md-2834 (N.D.
Mr. McCormick stated that PersonalWeb “wants to continue discussions to potentially reach a mutually agreeable dollar amount following this filing.” Id. ¶ 17.
Based on the representations in the McCormick Declaration, it appears that the parties would benefit from additional time to discuss resolution of the issue of a potential stipulated reduction in Amazon’s request for attorneys’ fees related to work performed in pursuit of an alter ego theory.
Accordingly, the Court hereby ORDERS that the deadlines for both (1) the parties’ filing of a stipulated fee reduction and (2) Amazon’s response to PersonalWeb’s supplemental opposition are extended to December 1, 2023.
