`
`Experience
`
`Software Engineer III, Android
`March 2019 - Present (3 years 2 months)
`Austin, TX
`I'm on the Android@Google team, bringing a cohesive set of features across
`Google's Android apps. Recently we launched all of Android 12's new home
`screen widgets for Google apps, a large portion of which I built.

`
`Aside from specializing in app development, I ship features at every level of
`the stack, from server development to metrics pipeline building to CI to binary
`distribution.

`
`Past:
`I worked on Google Play Services for Android, creating on-device solutions
`that provide Google services to 2+ billion devices.
`
`While taking into account massive scaling and stability, my work focused on
`app-side modularity to allow many Google teams to contribute to one app,
`working closely on the framework to allow dynamic code/resource loading, and
`serverside work for app distribution.

`Appuccino
`Owner, Software Engineer
`August 2012 - Present (9 years 9 months)
`Austin, Texas
`Appuccino is my LLC from which I've produced apps to the Google Play store
`and Apple App Store, as well as completed several app consulting projects. I
`personally published 7 apps of my own to the Google Play store and 1 app to
`the iOS App Store - 3 of which were notable successes:
`
`* #3 on the entire Google Play store at peak with "Scientific 7 Minute Workout"
` (generated ~$10k revenue in one day at peak)
`* #16 on the entire Google Play store at peak with "SimplyScan: PDF
`Document Scanner"
`* #37 on the entire Google Play store at peak with "Frequency: App Usage
`Tracking"
`* Total of 1.2M+ app downloads
`
`On top of this, as a consultant, I got 2 apps launched from ground zero.
`
`* I made the minimum viable product Android app for the startup Shadowbox
`which involved working with Chromecast and adding video streaming in-app.
`
`* I made the Android app for the startup BLUR, which solves the tricky
`dilemma of reminding those who had a long night at the bars what exactly
`happened last night.

`
`Implemented new features and solved complex problems for the Amazon Flex
`app on Android, a platform allowing crowd-sourced package delivery.
`
`Other than delivering several large projects such as the integration of
`scheduling offers into the app (allowing drivers to have flexible hours) as well
`as a large app refactor, I had also been a major proponent of bringing modern
`frameworks into the app to make our development lives easier and well as
`improved app stability, such as using Android's Architecture Components or
`using Kotlin as our app's first-class language. I was also voluntarily one of the
`maintainers of the Kotlin language, both in apps and services, at Amazon.
`
`I also spent time on the Flex mobile tools team making app SDKs and systems
`that capture metrics and analytics for Amazon Flex for both Android and
`iOS, including integrating crash reporting into the iOS app, making a front-
`end service that allows feature owners to query and visualize app metrics on
`dashboards, and made improvements to our metrics pipeline.
