`If you see an item in our online catalog that is marked "non-circulating," it means that the book cannot be checked out for use outside of the building. You are welcome to
`use non-circulating items in the library.

`The record for the item will always specify whether or not an item circulates. This information can be found in the "location field" or the "local notes" field.

`Non-circulating items are generally found in our special collections (i.e., Beinecke Rare Books and Manuscripts Library, Manuscripts and Archives, Medical History Library) and
