`Maxell v ZTE
`
`Dear Brian and Eric
`
`
`Maxell has moved for a continuance of the Huawei trial based on a pending motion for discovery
`sanctions. During a status conference with the Court today on the issue, Maxell proposed that the ZTE case
`proceed with trial on June 18 , with the Huawei trial to proceed thereafter to provide the parties in the Huawei
`case with additional time to prepare that case for trial. This proposal would obviously provide definite dates for
`the ZTE trial and assist the parties in other ways as well by having a date certain for the trial. The Court has
`asked that we reach out to you and get ZTE’s position on Maxell’s request. We would not expect ZTE to
`oppose, since ZTE’s trial date is set for June 18, as well, and the Court told Maxell and ZTE they should be
`ready for the ZTE trial on that date in case anything happened in the Huawei case. Please let us know whether
`ZTE opposes Maxell’s proposal and, if so, the bases for its opposition. Huawei and Maxell are to report back to
`the Court by Wednesday of next week in the form of a joint status report.
`
`
`Have a nice weekend. Feel free to call to discuss.
`
`
`Geoff
