`Counsel,
`
`From the Board –
`
`The Board considers a conference call with counsel in IPR2024-00338 and IPR2024-01081
`unnecessary. The Board intends to decide the earlier-filed motion, i.e., the motion for joinder in
`IPR2024-01081 filed on June 21, 2024, before deciding the later-filed motion, i.e., the motion to
`terminate in IPR2024-00338 filed on July 8, 2024 (based on a request for authorization submitted on
`June 28, 2024).

`Subject: Qualcomm Inc. v. Network Systems Technologies, LLC IPR2024-01081; Samsung Elec. Co.
`Ltd. v. Network Systems Technologies, LLC IPR2024-00338
`
`CAUTION: This email has originated from a source outside of USPTO. PLEASE CONSIDER THE SOURCE before
`responding, clicking on links, or opening attachments.
`
`Dear Board,
`
`I represent Petitioner Qualcomm in IPR2024-01081. Qualcomm filed the -01081 IPR on June 21,
`2024 and moved to join an instituted IPR, Samsung v. NST, IPR2024-00338. Qualcomm’s -01081
`IPR and the instituted -00338IPR challenge the same claims of the same patent on the same
`grounds. Yesterday, Samsung and NST filed a Joint Motion to Terminate the instituted -00338 IPR.
`
`Exhibit 3001
`
`

`

`Qualcomm respectfully requests a call with the Board to discuss the possibility of the Board either
`expediting its decision on Qualcomm’s Motion for Joinder in the -01081 IPR prior to terminating the
`-00338 IPR, or delaying a ruling on the Joint Motion to Terminate in the -00338 IPR until
`Qualcomm’s motion for joinder can be taken up by the Board, as the Board has done in other similar
`cases.
`
`We are sending this email prior to conferring with counsel for Samsung and NST, because we
`wanted to make sure the Board did not act on the motion to terminate the -00338 IPR without being
`aware of Qualcomm’s joinder motion filed in the -01081 IPR. We will confer with counsel for NST
`and Samsung, and provide proposed dates and times for a call with the Board as soon as possible.
`
`Best regards,
`Derek Vandenburgh
`
`cc. Counsel of record
