`configured to detect the emitted light after attenuation by and reflection from tissue of
`
`the patient at the tissue measurement site, the one or more detectors further configured
`
`to transmit a signal responsive to the detected light (elements 34,32, figures 7, 9-10,
`
`Col.11 line 2-Col.12 line 5); and a light block comprising an annular ring located
`
`between the emitted light at the tissue measurement site and the one or more detectors,
`
`the light block reducing an amountof incident light emitted from the one or more
