`VI. Description of the Invention:
`
`【Technical field of the invention】
`
`The present invention refers to a double-sided adhesive, in particular to a double-
`sided adhesive and a manufacturing method thereof.
`
`【Background Art】
`
`Double-sided adhesives in the prior art usually include a base board and two
`adhesive layers formed on two side surfaces of the base board. When in use, a double-sided
`adhesive is sandwiched between two to-be-attached objects to adhere the two objects
`together. However, the base board is usually made of PET material having a high strength,
`the adhesive layers cannot penetrate into the base board. When a greater pull force is
`applied, the adhesive layers are easily detached from the base board. The bonding strength
`of the double-sided adhesive is thus decreased, which in turn affects the bonding quality.
`
`【Summary】
`In view of the above, it is desired to provide a double-sided adhesive with greater
`bonding strength and a manufacturing method thereof.
`
`A double-sided adhesive, comprising a base board, a first adhesive layer formed on
`a surface of the base board, and a second adhesive layer formed on another surface of the
`base board. The base board comprises a plurality of through holes, and at least one of the
`first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer is filled in the plurality of through holes
`to combine the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer.

`A manufacturing method for a double-sided adhesive, comprising the following
`
`steps:
`
`providing a base board;
`
`providing a roller, a plurality of through holes are formed on the base board by
`rolling the roller thereon;
`
`forming a first adhesive layer on one side surface of the base board via transfer
`printing; and
`
`

`forming a second adhesive layer on the other side surface of the base board via
`transfer printing, at least one of the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer is
`filled in the through holes, so as to combine the first adhesive layer with the second
`adhesive layer.

`The base board of the double-sided adhesive of the present invention is provided
`with a plurality of through holes. At least one of the first adhesive layer and the second
`adhesive layer is filled in the through holes. The first adhesive layer and the second
`adhesive layer thus act as a whole after curing, thereby strengthening the bonding strength
`of the double-sided adhesive.

`【Detailed description】
`Please refer to FIG. 1. The double-sided adhesive 100 of the present invention
`comprises a base board 10, a first adhesive layer 30, and a second adhesive layer 50. The
`base board 10 comprises a plurality of through holes 12. The first adhesive layer 30 and
`the second adhesive layer 50 are coated on two opposite surfaces of the base board 10. At
`least one of the first adhesive layer 30 and the second adhesive layer 50 is filled in the
`plurality of through holes 12 to combine the first adhesive layer 30 and the second adhesive
`layer 50 together.
`
`The base board 10 is made of plastic, which may be at least one of polymers, such
`as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene (PE), polyvinylchloride (PVC),
`polyimide (PI), and any variation of the above materials. A thickness of the base board 10
`is from 12 micrometers (µm) to 50 µm. A hole width of the through holes 12 is from 1 µm
`to 100 µm, and a distance between adjacent through holes 12 is from10 µm to 100 µm. The
`through holes may be circular, polygonal, oval, or other shapes. It is to be appreciated that
`the through holes 12 may be arranged with the same or different distance therebetween.
`
`The first adhesive layer 30 and the second adhesive layer 50 may be made of the
`same materials or different materials. The first adhesive layer 30 or the second adhesive
`layer 50 comprises at least one of acrylic resin, silicone, rubber, and any variations of the
`above materials. A thickness of the adhesive layer 30 or the second adhesive layer 50 is
`from 10 µm to 100 µm.

`The base board 10 of the double-sided adhesive 100 is made of PET. The thickness
`of the base board 10 is 12 µm. The through holes 12 are circular holes having a diameter
`of 1 µm. The distances between adjacent through holes 12 are the same and each is 10 µm.
`The first adhesive layer 30 and the third adhesive layer 50 are made of acrylic resin. The
`thickness of both the first adhesive layer 30 and the third adhesive layer 50 is 10 µm.

`Embodiment II
`The base board 10 of the double-sided adhesive 100 is made of PET. The thickness
`of the base board 10 is 50 µm. The through hole 12 is a circular hole having a diameter of
`100 µm. The distances between adjacent through holes 12 are the same and each is 100
`µm. The first adhesive layer 30 and the third adhesive layer 50 are made of acrylic resin.
`The thickness of both the first adhesive layer 30 and the third adhesive layer 50 is 100 µm.

`Embodiment III
`The base board 10 of the double-sided adhesive 100 is made of PET. The thickness
`of the base board 10 is 20 µm. The through hole 12 is a circular hole having a diameter of
`30 µm. The distances between adjacent through holes 12 are the same and each is 20 µm.
`The first adhesive layer 30 and the third adhesive layer 50 are made of acrylic resin. The
`thickness of both the first adhesive layer 30 and the third adhesive layer 50 is 20 µm.

`Embodiment IV
`The base board 10 of the double-sided adhesive 100 is made of PET. The thickness
`of the base board 10 is 20 µm. The through hole 12 is a circular hole having a diameter of
`30 µm. The distances between adjacent through holes 12 are the same and each is 40 µm.
`The first adhesive layer 30 and the third adhesive layer 50 are made of acrylic resin. The
`thickness of both the first adhesive layer 30 and the third adhesive layer 50 is 30 µm.

`Embodiment V
`The base board 10 of the double-sided adhesive 100 is made of PET. The thickness
`of the base board 10 is 20 µm. The through hole 12 is a circular hole having a diameter of
`30 µm. The distances between adjacent through holes 12 are the same and each is 40 µm.

`Embodiment VI
`The base board 10 of the double-sided adhesive 100 is made of PE. The thickness
`of the base board 10 is 20 µm. The through hole 12 is a square hole having a side length of
`30 µm. The distances between adjacent through holes 12 are randomly adjusted, and are
`controlled to be between 10 µm and 100 µm. The first adhesive layer 30 and the third
`adhesive layer 50 are made of acrylic resin. The thickness of both the first adhesive layer
`30 and the third adhesive layer 50 is 30 µm.

`Please refer to FIG. 2. A method for manufacturing the double-sided adhesive of the
`present invention comprises the following steps:
`
`S201: providing a base board 10; in this implementation, the base board 10 is made
`of PET, and the thickness of the base board 10 is 12 µm; the through holes 12 are circular
`holes having a diameter of 1 µm; the distances between adjacent through holes 12 are the
`same and are 10 µm.
`
`S202: providing a roller, and forming a plurality of through holes 12 on the base
`board 10 by rolling the roller thereon; in this implementation, the through holes 12 are
`circular holes having a diameter of 1 µm. The distances between adjacent through holes 12
`are the same and are 10 µm.
`
`S203: forming the first adhesive layer 30 on one side surface of the base board 10
`using transfer printing; in this implementation, the first adhesive layer 30 is made of acrylic
`resin, and the thickness of the first adhesive layer 30 is 10 µm.
`
`S204: forming the second adhesive layer 50 on the other side surface of the base
`board 10 using transfer printing; in this implementation, the second adhesive layer 50 is
`made of acrylic resin, and the thickness of the second adhesive layer 50 is 10 µm; finally,
`making at least one of the first adhesive layer 30 and the second adhesive layer 50 filled in
`the through holes 12, so as to combine the first adhesive layer 30 and the second adhesive
`layer 50 together.
`
`The base board 10 of the double-sided adhesive 100 is provided with the plurality
`of through holes thereon, such that the first adhesive 30 and the second adhesive 50 may
`be inter-connected through the through holes 12. The first adhesive 30 and the second

`adhesive 50 act as a whole after curing, so as to strengthen the bonding strength of the
`double-sided adhesive 100.
`
`In summary, this invention clearly meets the requirements of a patent |invention,
`and thus a patent application is filed in accordance with the law. However, the above are
`merely the preferred embodiments of the present invention, and the scope of the present
`invention should not be limited by the above-mentioned embodiments. Any equivalent
`modifications or changes made by those skilled in the art in light of the spirit of the present
`invention shall fall within the scope of the following claims.

`VII. Claims:
`1. A double-sided adhesive, comprising: a base board, a first adhesive layer formed on
`one surface of the base board, and a second adhesive layer formed on another surface
`of the base board, an improvement thereof lies in that the base board is provided thereon
`a plurality of through holes, and at least one of the first adhesive layer and second
`adhesive layer is filled in the plurality of the through holes, so as to combine the first
`adhesive layer and second adhesive layer together.
`2. The double-sided adhesive of claim 1, wherein materials forming the base board
`comprise at least one of polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene, polyvinylchloride,
`and polyimide.
`3. The double-sided adhesive of claim 1, wherein materials forming the first adhesive
`layer comprise at least one of acrylic resin, silicone, and rubber.
`4. The double-sided adhesive of claim 1, wherein materials forming the second adhesive
`layer comprise at least one of acrylic resin, silicone, and rubber.
`5. The double-sided adhesive of claim 1, wherein a thickness of the base board is from 12
`µm to 50 µm.
`6. The double-sided adhesive of claim 1, wherein a thickness of the first adhesive layer or
`the second adhesive layer is from 10 µm to 100 µm.
`7. The double-sided adhesive of claim 1, wherein a diameter of the through hole is from
`1 µm to 100 µm, and a distance between adjacent through holes is from 10 µm to 100
`µm.
`8. A method of manufacturing a double-sided adhesive, comprising the following steps:
`providing a base board;
`providing a roller, and forming a plurality of through holes on the base board by rolling
`the roller on the base board;
`forming a first adhesive layer on one side surface of the base board via transfer printing;
`and
`forming a second adhesive layer on another side surface of the base board via transfer
`printing; filling the plurality of the through holes with at least one of the first adhesive
`layer and the second adhesive layer, so as to combine the first adhesive layer and the
`second adhesive layer together.
