`PETITIONERS’ REQUEST FOR REFUND OF POST-INSTITUTION FEES

`On September 24, 2020, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Samsung
`
`Electronics America, Inc., Sony Corporation, and Sony Mobile Communications
`
`Inc. (“Petitioners”) filed a Petition for Inter Partes Review of U.S. Patent No.
`
`8,749,251 (“the ʼ251 Patent”), which was assigned AIA review number IPR2020-
`
`01683 by the Board. The petition requested inter partes review of claims 1-3, 7-12
`
`and 16-18 of the ʼ251 Patent. Accordingly, Petitioners submitted filing fees
`
`totaling $30,500, of which $15,000 constituted post-institution fees as specified by
`
`37 C.F.R. § 42.15(a).
`
`Because inter partes review of the ʼ251 Patent in IPR2020-01683 has not yet
`
`been instituted, Petitioners request a refund of post-institution fees in the amount of
`
`$15,000. Upon review and approval of this request, Petitioners respectfully
`
`request that the Board credit these post institution fees to Deposit Account Number
`
`50-0639 from which they were originally submitted.
