`Subject: IPR Proceeding IPR2020-00510 – Request for Extension of Time to File PO Preliminary Response
`
`Dear PTAB,
`
`Patent Owner, Rembrandt Wireless Technologies, LP, respectfully requests that it be permitted a two-week extension of time to file its
`Patent Owner Preliminary Response in Inter Partes Review Proceeding No. IPR2020-00510 against U.S. Patent No. 8,023,580, filed on
`February 3, 2020.
`
`The Docketing Notice was mailed March 17, 2020, making Patent Owner’s Preliminary Response due June 17, 2020. Patent Owner asks
`that this date be extended to July 1, 2020, for the following reasons.
`
`Shortly after the Petition was filed and before the docketing notice was mailed, the offices of both Patent Owner and Patent Owner’s
`lead counsel were placed on mandatory telework status due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These offices remain on mandatory telework
`status as of this date. The office closures have resulted in inefficiencies in coordinating and completing work essential to responding to
`the Petition as well as hindering the ability to contact, retain and work with an expert witness, whose work has also been disrupted by
`the COVID-19 outbreak.
`
`In addition to the pandemic, the recent and widespread civil protests and rioting, including very near the location where in-house
`counsel for Rembrandt is presently working, have provided, and continue to provide, further disruptions that have interfered with the
`ability to timely complete the work necessary to respond to the Petition.
`
`The delays caused by the office closures and hindrance on travel, as well as the recent and widespread civil protests and rioting, have
`materially interfered with the ability of Patent Owner to timely file a complete Preliminary Response and thus Patent Owner
`respectfully requests an additional two weeks within which to file its preliminary response.
`
`Patent Owner has consulted with Petitioner’s counsel (copied on this email), who does not object to this request.
`
`If the PTAB would like to discuss this request, counsel for the parties are available for a call during the following days and times (all
`times are EDT): Thursday, June 4, from noon to 4:00 P.M.; Friday, June 5, between 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. or between 3:30 P.M. and
`5:00 P.M. Counsel is also available on Monday, June 8 between 1:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M., and Tuesday June 9, between 10:00 A.M.
`and 3:30 P.M.
`
`A similar request for an extension of time has also been made in Inter Partes Review Proceeding No. IPR 2020-00509, which was
`initiated against related U.S. Patent No. 8,457,228 by the same Petitioner.
`
`Respectfully submitted,
`
