`About the Author
`
`Brian Underdahl is the best-selling author of over 70 books, numerous maga—
`zine articles, ancl dozens of Web pieces. He has appeared on a number of TV
`shows as an expert on computing and has taught many different computer
`courses.
`
`Brian loves to play with the newest gadgets, and he gets a lot of enjoyment
`out of making computers easier to understand and use for people who don‘t
`have the time to wade through all the gory details on their own. When he isn’t
`typing at the keyboard, you’ll often find Brian preparing a gourmet meal at his
`home in the mountains above Reno, Nevada. His wife enjoys that part, too.

`
`I have to admit that it’s a lot of fun seeing my name on the cover of a book.
`But it's probably a little unfair that only one name gets listed there because
`there are so many other people who helped make the book into a reality. To
`address this, I’d like to thank a whole bunch of people who made the book
