`The Nokia 9000i Communicator, which combines digital voice and data services and personal organizer functions, was first made
`commercially available in North America in October 1997 by GSM 1900 personal communications services (PCS) carriers. The Nokia
`9000 Communicator was first sold in August 1996 in Europe and Asia, and today it is sold in more than 30 countries.

`Far more than a full-featured digital phone, the Nokia 9000i Communicator enables users to send and receive faxes, e-mails and short
`messages as well as access lntemet services and corporate and public databases. Other applications include an electronic calendar,
`address book, notepad and calculator.
