`Message:
`
`Dear Mr Heinisch,
` Mrs. Bartsch had already forwarded me your request for reasons of competence. I am sorry that you
`had to ask again.
` Unfortunately, we cannot send you a letter with the content suggested in the attachment to your e-mail.
` The concerned dissertation was incorporated in our library more than 30 years back and we cannot
`guarantee that the rules of cataloging have not changed since then.
` Also, since 1988 the catalog has been converted from a card index to an electronic index (OPAC).
` However, I can send you the copy of concerned title record from our composite card index system, as an
`enclosure. Two categories are marked in red therein, which contain a date. Both are local categories
`that concern only our library. The category 4900 is thereby the date of our first issue.
` I hope to have helped you.
` Best regards,
` On behalf of
` Andreas Lütjen

`Dear Mrs Bartsch,
`I wanted to ensure that you have received my mail. If you have any further queries, I would be happy to

` Thank you.

` Dear Mrs Bartsch,
` As discussed on phone, I am sending you the draft of a letter with text, which an employee of TIB could
`sign if possible. The text can, of course, be modified as long as the core information is still included.
` The signing person should have ideally
`
`1. worked in the TIB in 1988 and should have been responsible for catalog and inventory
`management; or
`2. should have knowledge about catalog and inventory management at that time. This could be
`for example an immediate successor of the person mentioned under 1. or
`3. someone who can generally provide information on the inventory management and card index
`recording process of TIB, including the process at that time.
` Of course, we will bear all costs associated with this query.
` I thank you for your cooperation and support.
` With Best Regards,

`Sehr geehrter Herr Heinisch,
` Frau Bartsch hatte Ihre Anfrage bereits zuständigkeitshalber an mich weitergeleitet. Entschuldigen Sie bitte, dass Sie
`erneut nachfragen mussten.
`Ersterfassung.
` Ich hoffe, Ihnen damit weitergeholfen zu haben.
` Mit freundlichen Grüßen
` Im Auftrag

` Sehr geehrte Frau Bartsch,
`
`1. 1988 in der TIB gearbeitet haben und für die Katalogs-und Bestandsaufnahme verantwortlich gewesen sein;
`oder
