`To add graphics to your shop:
`
`1. Deliver the image to the InfoHaus, via FTP, as you would any other
`product.
`
`2. Register the item by Telnet. Type in the following information when the
`appropriate prompt appears:
`
`item name -- enter the name you will call the image file in your
`HTML code, but start the name with "HIDDEN." (use all caps and
`include the period). The hidden image will not be seen on your shop's
`web page until you reference it in your HTML. (IMPORTANT: The
`InfoHaus will automatically add ".free" and ".gif" or ".jpg"
`extensions, as explained in Chapter 4 of the InfoHaus Seller's Guide.)

`price -- enter a price of zero (0.00).
`
`free portion -- enter the name of the file you FTP'd to the InfoHaus
`(remember to name it exactly -- case matters).

`free portion's file type -- select the type of image it is.
`

`The InfoHaus automatically generates storefront pages. You may override these
`with your own HTML documents, creating a totally custom shop.
`
`1. Your custom pages need to be complete HTML documents. Include
`<HTML> tags, <HEADER> tags, etc.
`
`2. To customize your main page, the file must be called "HIDDEN.ROOT"
`(uppercase, with the period). This is the page displayed when a Buyer enters
`your shop.
`
`3. The names of other pages you add must start with "HIDDEN." (uppercase,
`with the period).
`
`4. When creating links between your pages, please remember the InfoHaus
`naming conventions (see Chapter 4 of the InfoHaus Seller's Guide).
`Specifically, every filename will have ".free.html" added at the end.
`
`5. Your links must use the entire path from the root of the InfoHaus:

`You may easily add a form to your InfoHaus shop to initiate transactions and receive
`customer responses. No CGI programming is needed -- just "post" your form to the
`special First Virtual address.
`
`This is useful for:
`
`collecting donations
`selling subscriptions
`selling customized software
`obtaining additional information from paying customers
`
`To add a form to your shop, include it in your store's description, or as the free part
`of an information product without a paid part (i.e. a price of zero).
`
`Set the ACTION of the form to POST to our "emailpayform" CGI script:

`The form must have these 5 fields:

`Describes the purchase in a maximum of 40 characters.

`An Optional Field:

`6) UNIQUE
`Our system protects Buyers from being billed twice for the same product (like
`when a download fails and a second attempt is made). For special cases (like
`when selling memberships that expire), you may want to set "UNIQUE" to
`"yes". A random 3-digit number will then be added to your product's
`description (making each transaction unique), and Buyers will be billed every
`time they purchase the same product.
`
`NOTE: The 6 fields may be put anywhere on your form, in any order. Except for
`"buyer", they may also be "hidden" so you can define their values and make them
`more difficult to change.
`
`You may add any additional fields you wish.
`
`When the form is submitted, the transaction is sent to the InfoHaus and everything a
`Buyer fills out will be forwarded to you by e-mail (to the address you gave the
`InfoHaus when you opened your shop)!
`
`The message sent to you will contain a "transfer-id" field. The same field will be in
`the "transfer-result" you will receive later, when the Buyer answers "yes", "no" or
`"fraud". To see if the Buyer agreed to pay for the purchase, match these two
`messages by matching their "transfer-id" fields.
`
`(If you plan to use automatic processing, the MIME content type of these messages
`is: application/x-fv-emailpay-form)
`
`IMPORTANT: Check every e-mail message from this form to be sure that the
`"amount" field has not been changed by a Buyer with advanced HTML experience!
`
`Try filling out the following form. Whatever you input will be sent to you by e-mail.
`(If you use the Buyer's VirtualPIN that you opened your InfoHaus store with, no
`transaction will be generated and there will be no charge.)

`You can create sub-pages in your shop that organize your products by category. For
`example, a shop's main page could have links named "Articles", "Photos", and
`"Poems" that lead to pages containing those products.
`
`For a visual example, please visit the Internet Letter shop.

`Naming Your Products
`
`To put your products on a sub-page, they need to be named according to the hierarchy
`you want. Their names should begin with the name of the sub-page you want them on.
`
`Example: Products will appear on separate sub-pages called "articles" and
`"photos" if they are named like this:

`products is "assigned" a topic or keyword:

`topics must be picked from a permanent list
`keywords can be created at will

`Lists of current topics and keywords are at the bottom of the topic and keyword
`pages. (Please try to use existing keywords whenever possible -- creating too many
`keywords is counterproductive.)

`NOTE: You can list your products under multiple topics or keywords in one
`message, if you separate the topics or keywords by spaces.

`Topic and keyword updates currently take place once every six hours; shop updates
`
`take place every five to ten minutes. Therefore, a new product that appears in your
`shop may not appear on the Topic and Keyword pages for several hours.
`
`If your shop contains directories: You can have the names of your directory pages
`appear in a listing instead of the individual items. To do this, assign a topic or
`keyword to the free 00DIRECTORY item. Do not assign a topic or keyword to the
`individual products.

`Storage Fees
`InfoHaus fees are $1.50 per megabyte per month ($1.50 minimum) for storage plus
`8% of the selling price for confirmed purchases. These fees are in addition to the
`First Virtual transaction fees of $0.29 cents plus 2%.
`
`(Technical Note: The storage space for your products is based on their sizes as
`would be sent by e-mail, not on their sizes in the FTP site. The e-mail size for
`binary files may be slightly larger than the size on the FTP site.)
`
`Calculation of Storage Fees
`On each day, the maximum amount of storage used by your shop and products is
`calculated. The number of bytes used that day is rounded up to the next multiple of
`one million, then multiplied by $0.0493151 (this is $1.50 * 12 months / 365 days).
`This is the your storage fee for that day.
`
`Billing
`Storage fees are billed to your Buyer's VirtualPIN on or around the 1st or 15th of
`each month. You will not be billed, however, until you owe a minimum of $3.50.
`
`Let's say the storage space for your shop and products on the InfoHaus is one megabyte
`for the month. You also sold three items:
`1 item for $1.00 ----> 29 cents + 2% = $0.31
`1 item for $10.00 ----> 29 cents + 2% = $0.49
`1 item for $100.00 ---> 29 cents + 2% = $2.29
`Total sales: $111.00
`First Virtual fees before deposit: $3.09
`Deposited Amount: $111.00 - $3.09 - $1.00 (settlement fee) = $106.91
`Total fees deducted for using the FVIPS as a Seller: $4.09
`Total InfoHaus Fees Billed To Your VirtualPIN:
` $1.50 + (.08 X 111.00) = $1.50 + $8.88 = $10.38

`Your InfoHaus bill is sent to you by e-mail, as a transfer-query, at the end of the month.
`Like anything billed to your VirtualPIN, you must confirm the charge by answering "yes",
`"no" or "fraud".
