`IPR2018-00608
`Patent 9,161,926 B2
`
`
`On October 12, 2018, Allergan, Inc. (“Allergan”) updated its
`mandatory notices to reflect a change in ownership of Patent No. 9,161,926,
`“as established by a confirmatory assignment from Allergan to Almirall,
`LLC [(“Almirall”)] executed October 10, 2018 and submitted for
`recordation on October 11, 2018.” Paper 13, 1. A copy of the confirmatory
`assignment submitted for recordation is entered as Exhibit 2001.
`Accordingly, we hereby acknowledge Almirall as the owner of the ’926
`patent.
`On October 29, 2018, Patent Owner Almirall filed an updated power
`of attorney revoking all prior powers of attorney in this proceeding and
`appointing James Trainor and Ewa M. Davison, both of Fenwick & West
`LLP, as lead and back-up counsel, respectively. Paper 16. Additionally,
`Almirall filed an updated mandatory notice indicating the change of counsel
`as set forth in the power of attorney. Paper 15.
`On October 30, 2018, with prior authorization, Almirall filed a motion
`to withdraw Scott E. Kamholz and Jessica L. Parezo of Covington & Burling
`LLP as its lead and backup counsel, respectively. Paper 17. Almirall
`represents that Petitioner does not oppose the requested withdrawal of
`counsel. Paper 17. Counsel may withdraw from an inter partes review
`proceeding only with authorization from the Board. 37 C.F.R. § 42.10(e).
`Because no prejudice is shown and no party opposes in the instance case, we
`see no reason to deny Almirall’s motion to withdraw.
`In consideration of the above, it is
`ORDERED that Scott E. Kamholz and Jessica L. Parezo are allowed
`to withdraw as counsel from this proceeding; and
