`
`Patent Owner’s Notice of Filing Opposition to Everlight’s Motion for
`Joinder
`On July 12, 2018, Patent Owner filed a paper styled “Patent Owner’s
`Notice of Filing Opposition to Everlight’s Motion for Joinder in IPR2018-
`01244,” along with several exhibits. Paper 17; Exhibits 2100–2105.2 The
`papers are unauthorized. Although we previously authorized Petitioner to
`file an opposition to the motion for joinder for the IPR2018-01244
`proceeding in the present case (Paper 153), Patent Owner did not seek or
`obtain authorization from the Board to file any papers related to IPR2018-
`01226 in the present case. Unauthorized papers are generally expunged.
`“The Board may expunge any paper directed to a proceeding or filed
`while an application or patent is under the jurisdiction of the Board that is
`not authorized under this part or in a Board order . . . .” 37 C.F.R § 42.7.
`Although there are exceptions to filing certain papers in proceedings without
`prior authorization (see, e.g., Office Patent Trial Practice Guide, 77 Fed.
`Reg. at 48,762–63), the instant Notice and related exhibits are not among
`them.
`
`
`
`
`
`
`
`
`2 Patent Owner filed similar papers in each of the instant proceedings. We
`refer to those filed in case IPR2018-00265 for convenience.
`3 Our authorization in IPR2018-00333 and IPR2018-00522 was done via
`email.
