`RailPlan International, Baltimore, MD (March 2013 to present)
`
`
` Vice President of Engineering – directed a department of up to 18 individuals to complete the
`design, construction, and test of interiors for the Amtrak LDSL project. Interiors included shower,
`toilet, roomette, deluxe, and ADA modules along with a full-service galley. This effort included
`preliminary, intermediate, and final design reviews along with first article inspections and
`technical support of the installation at the CAF plant in Elmira, NY. All designs were in full
`compliance with CFR, FRA, and FDA regulations.
`
`
`CAF USA, Elmira Heights, NY (April 2011 to March 2013)
`
`
` US Program Manager - Amtrak LDSL project.. I was the main interface between CAF USA and

`
`
` Director of Engineering - Worked with a major rail car component supplier to develop products
`for the US market. This effort included designing, manufacturing, and testing products to U.S.
`expectations. These product are currently on a one-year trial at NYCT. I led the U.S. portion of

`that the car builder will meet all Federal, APTA, and Amtrak requirements throughout the life of
`the contract.
` On Contract to CAF USA – Led the CAF American effort to write the technical proposal for the
`Amtrak LDSL (Viewliner II) contract. This included assembling a technical team, either
`overseeing or directly writing the proposal text and supporting the proposal in final meeting with
`Amtrak. The result was that CAF won the contract over a company that had already built a very
`similar car for Amtrak.
`
`
`
`Colorado Railcar Manufacturing, LLC, Ft. Lupton, CO (9/05 to 6/08)
`
` 
`
` Vice President of Product Development - Researched and investigated alternative energy drives for
`DMUs including diesel-hydraulic drives with hydraulic energy storage and diesel electric drives with
`regenerative electrical storage. I represented Colorado Railcar in all matters pertaining to the Federal
`Railroad Administration (FRA) as well as various industry groups.
`
`Vice President of Engineering – Directed a group of over 30 engineers and designers in the design,
`construction, and testing of various unique rail cars including dome touring cars and Diesel Multiple Unit
`(DMU) commuter cars. In addition to directing the engineering effort on other projects, I personally
`managed the effort to transform a “working prototype” double deck DMU and trailer car into fully CFR-
`compliant marketable products. This included an 11,000 pound weight reduction, a 9 dB reduction in
`noise, and re-design, analysis, testing, and document preparation to meet the CFR requirements. The
`effort culminated in a letter from the DOT technical group (the Volpe Center) that the car was fully 49
`CFR 238 compliant. During actual testing the DMU consist achieved fuel efficiencies far exceeding that
`achieved by a standard locomotive-hauled push-pull consist.

`writing comprehensive job descriptions and performance objectives, writing the department policies
`and procedures toward and achieving ISO certification, and hiring the staff required to meet the needs
`of the department while addressing the individual needs of multiple contracts up to $2 billion in value.
