`FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Microsystems Software Inc. today announced version 2.5 of its
`CaLANdar for Windows and DOS group scheduling software.
`
`Version 2.5 adds a drag-and-drop user interface to create, move, copy or delete group and personal
`appointments. In place of the more traditional trash can, CaLANdar for Windows provides the environmentally
`correct choice of an animated "recycle" symbol. In addition to user interface enhancements, version 2.5 now
`includes a Windows SETUP facility, several new core scheduling features and network manager capabilities.
`
`CaLANdar for Windows includes new Daily, Weekly and Monthly screens, plus a 12 month navigator that
`provides instant access to any day's activity. The three new screens -- any of which can be chosen as a user's
`default -- can be fully customized by each user. Both the Daily and Weekly screens permit the user to fine tune
`the data that is presented.
`
`In the Daily and Weekly screens, the right hand mouse button provides a pop-up menu for viewing details,
`modifying or deleting activities and RSVPing to group activities.
`
`The daily screen graphically displays your appointments, tasks, and messages for a given day. The weekly
`screen provides a fixed or rolling 5 day view of your appointments, as well as a daily count of your tasks and
`messages.
`
`The monthly screen provides a graphical presentation of the activities of multiple users and/or resources (e.g.
`conference rooms). From the overview mode, you can view a time that is available to all users and, by clicking
`and dragging, specify the appointment time -- and have all participants automatically invited. The monthly screen
`lets you further "zoom in" to view the specific activity of individual users, as well as browse through the "top-level
`descriptions" of other user's activity -- security permitting.
`
`Other features that have been added to CaLANdar include the ability for each user to specify individual work days
`and work hours. This feature is ideal for corporations or government agencies that have flexible shifts. For
`instance, if a person works from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., CaLANdar will tell you that they are unavailable for an
`appointment at 4 p.m. Additionally, CaLANdar's in/out of the office pegboard system has been extended to
`include information on where you are going and when you expect to return. Finally, CaLANdar's notification
`system has been extended to include notification via beeper.
`
`Version 2.5 now includes a Windows SETUP program which not only installs the software on the server and/or
`Windows client machines, but includes two very useful data management facilities: WANalyzer and SuperVIEW.
`WANalyzer analyzes CaLANdar's interaction with other remote CaLANdar databases. SuperVIEW provides a
`macro-view report of your enterprise-wide activity based upon a keyword text search within any or all CaLANdar
`databases. You could print a report which includes all appointments and or tasks which have "Project X" within
`the top level description of the activity. SuperVIEW respects the individual user security settings when printing this
`report.
`
`CaLANdar 2.5 is scheduled to ship in September. Users who are under warranty will receive free upgrades. Other
`users can obtain the upgrade at a $4 per user cost.

`
`CaLANdar is an enterprise-wide group scheduling product that tightly couples with industry standard e-mail to
`provide a comprehensive communications and scheduling tool. CaLANdar supports cc:Mail, Microsoft Mail, Vines
`Mail, and MHS based e-mail products from DaVinci, Beyond, Notework, and Infinite. CaLANdar schedules people
`and resource appointments. Additionally, it coordinates both personal and group tasks. Finally, CaLANdar
`includes a telephone message center, a note pad facility and an in/out of the office "pegboard" system.
`
`CaLANdar has an installed base in excess of 250,000 users. CaLANdar is available from Microsystems Software
`and through a network of resellers. Additionally, DaVinci licenses, markets, and sells a version of CaLANdar for
`DaVinci eMail users.
