`If you need help crunching numbers using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Excel 2000 Bible can take
`novices or spreadsheet converts to an intermediate level and set regular users well on the road to
`mastery. So well-organized it could almost be a tutorial, the Bible starts with the basics of
`spreadsheet creation and navigation and moves on to cover weightier topics like sharing work,
`publishing data on the Web, and analysis using pivot tables.
`You won't have any trouble finding everything you need, and when you do, the text and
`illustrations will show you the steps necessary to set your data to work. Unfortunately, it doesn't go
`into quite enough detail on the more advanced topics like Visual Basic programming, but for all
`but the mightiest data-jockeys it has plenty.
`The accompanying CD-ROM has lots to keep you busy too: the complete text of the book, over 30
`Excel utilities, custom worksheet functions, and even (why not?) a bunch of games. The 32-page
`Quick Start book will have you mucking about in spreadsheets in short order. As an overall
`package, the Microsoft Excel 2000 Bible is hard to beat. --Rob Lightner

`2000 or Excel 97, you need this book to achieve full
`guruhood. It is not a rehash of the users manual. It is not
`an overall introduction. It is for experienced Excel
`users. To quote from the authors; "For the group of
`Excel users who have been working with Excel long
`enough to be steamed at the software for its stupidity
`and inadequacy. Those users who grit their teeth at the
`problems and convoluted features and grind their way
`through, knowing their must be a better way but not

`comes to Microsoft Excel. This HUGE book (936
`pages) is a comprehensive guide for every Excel user.
`Not to be read cover-to-cover, but a great book to open
`up if you are having a problem. It has hundreds of
`solutions to real life problems on basic through
`advanced Excel topics. Some sections on VBA, but not
`designed to be a comprehensive VBA reference. $31.99

`Advanced users may want to spring an extra $10 for the
`Excel 2000 Bible - Gold Edition, which offers an

`Doc Palmer is the first author to really write a handbook for the people responsible for making
`Maintenance Excellence a reality. It is a must for every planner, scheduler and maintenance
`manager. We are using this book as a textbook for our Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
`Seminars at all of our North American Iron Ore Mining and Processing Facilities.
`I highly recommend it to anyone responsible for managing and improving maintenance
`effectiveness.

`Excellent book for anyone considering the implementation of a computerized maintenance system.
`Not only stresses the need for a sound planning and scheduling process but actually provides the
`nuts and bolts of how to do it. Its obvious the author, Doc Palmer has a handle of whats needed to
`be successful as the manager of large maintenance force. I would really recommend this book to
`anyone involved in the maintenance of a power station.
