`The information contained in the Library’s cataloging systems, which works in
`
`conjunction with WorldCat system, is generated in the course of the Library’s
`
`ordinary business, at or near the time each event recorded in the system occurred.
`
`The Library staff, including myself, rely on the information contained in the
`
`Library’s cataloging systems, as well as the OCLC system, to perform our day-to-
`
`day activities in carrying out the Library’s business. Exhibit A is a true and correct
`
`copy of a screen shot from the OCLC’s WorldCat database showing the records
`
`relating to Samsung Exhibit 1006 .

`As shown on page iii of Samsung Exhibit 1006, the dissertation was
`
`approved on December 20, 1978. It wad was the general practice at the time that
`
`the Ph.D. candidate would deliver a manuscript within a few weeks after the
`
`dissertation was approved.

`The WorldCat database also indicates that the manuscript was copied
`
`into a microfilm form by University Microfilm International (“UMI”), a service
`
`that coverts dissertations from various universities into microfilm format for
`
`cataloging and indexing, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in January 1979. It was
`
`the Library’s general practice to submit approved dissertations from the various
`
`departments in the New Mexico State University to UMI so that the dissertations
`
`can be searched for and accessed by members of the public.

`The OCLC system also indicates that Samsung Exhibit 1006 was then
`

`cataloged on June 12, 1979. It was the general practice of the Library at the time
`
`to make a bound volume of manuscript available on the shelf for Library users
`
`within about three to five days after the cataloging date.
`

`By cataloging the Samsung Exhibit 1006 in the OCLC system,
`
`Samsung Exhibit 1006 was also made available for search in the WorldCat
`
`database, an aggregated catalog system maintained by OCLC that indexes
`
`resources fi'om multiple member libraries in the United States and elsewhere. The
`
`Library has been a member of WordCat system since 1974. The library
`
`maintained the same physical copy created in 1979 until 1997.
`

`The OCLC system also indicates that the original bound volume of
`
`Rogers dissertation was lost some time before 1997, and the Library replaced the
`
`physical copy on August 5, 1997, by creating a copy from an archival copy that
`
`was in the Library’s Special Collections, binding and cataloging it. The Library
`
`has maintained the same physical copy created in 1997 to date.
`

`The Voyager Integrated Library system keeps track of the collections
`
`in the Library. It includes modules for cataloging, circulation, acquisitions and the
`
`online catalog. The system indicates that an archival copy of the Samsung Exhibit
`
`1006 was created on May 5, 1988, and was placed in the Special Collection. The
`
`system also indicates that the Samsung Exhibit 1006 as it currently exists in the
`
`library was created on August 5, 1997. A true and correct copy of the screen
`

`printout of the loan record of Samsung Exhibit 1006 in the Voyager Integrated
`
`Library system is attached hereto as Exhibit B.
`
