`Pursuant to 37 C.F.R. § 42.10(c) and the Notice of Filing Date Accorded to Pe-
`
`tition and Time for Filing Patent Owner Preliminary Response entered on August 9,
`
`2016 (Paper 6) in this proceeding, Petitioner respectfully requests the expedited pro hac
`
`vice admission of Charles M. Stiernberg in this proceeding as counsel for Samsung
`
`Electronics Co., Ltd. and Samsung Electronics America, Inc. (“Samsung”). Samsung
`
`seeks Mr. Stiernberg’s assistance because of his experience assisting Samsung in paral-
`
`lel litigation and his familiarity with the substantive and technical issues involved in
`
`this proceeding. In view of an upcoming teleconference with the Board, currently
`
`scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2016 at 12:30 PM ET, Petitioner respectfully
`
`requests an expedited decision on this Motion such that Mr. Stiernberg may partici-
`
`pate in the teleconference.
`
`Petitioner has conferred with Patent Owner, Evolved Wireless, LLC, and Pa-
`
`tent Owner does not oppose Petitioner’s Motion.

`Statement of Facts.
`ZTE’s lead counsel in this proceeding, Charles M. McMahon, is a registered
`
`practitioner (Reg. No. 44,926), and Samsung’s counsel in this proceeding, James M.
`
`Glass, is a registered practitioner (Reg. No. 46,729). Mr. Stiernberg is an experienced
`
`patent litigation attorney, with more than three years of experience, including in-
`
`volvement in fact and expert discovery, Markman briefing and hearings, and oral ar-
`
`guments in patent infringement matters before Federal district courts in Delaware,
`
`Texas, and California. (Ex. 1043, ¶ 2).

`Mr. Stiernberg has established familiarity with the subject matter at issue in this
`
`proceeding. (Id., ¶ 9). U.S. Patent No. 8,218,481 is involved in parallel litigation filed
`
`by Patent Owner against Samsung in the United States District Court for the District
`
`of Delaware (Civil Action No. 15-cv-545-SLR). (Id.). Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sul-
`
`livan, LLP represents Samsung in this litigation. (Id.). Mr. Stiernberg has appeared as
`
`counsel for Samsung in this litigation and is actively involved in all aspects of the dis-
`
`trict court proceedings. (Id.). Therefore, good cause exists to admit Mr. Stiernberg pro
`
`hac vice in this proceeding. Further, in view of an upcoming teleconference with the
`
`Board, currently scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2016 at 12:30 PM ET, Sam-
`
`sung respectfully requests an expedited decision on this Motion.
