`UNCONVENTIONAL INDUSTRY AWARDS INNOVATIVE THINKING
`
`Each year, at the CSUR Fall Conference, the Sproule Innovation and
`Achievement Award is presented to an industry representative who has
`made significant contributions and accomplishments towards advancing the
`development of unconventional resources in Canada.
`

`Douglas Carsted, VP of Geoscience,
`(sponsor of the Award), and presented the 2012 Award to Dan Themig.
`
`Dan, President of Packers Plus, was an early innovator in the development
`of modern hydraulic fracturing technologies, enabling the recovery of oil
`and gas from shale and similarly challenging hydrocarbon reservoirs,
`particularly using horizontal wells. He continues to be a catalyst within the
`industry for the evolution of reservoir completion technologies that are
`unlocking North America’s oil and gas resources.

`The actual presentation took place on October 3'” during the 14"‘ Annual
`Unconventional Resources Conference (Frac to the Future) at the Telus
`Convention Centre in Calgary.
