`On January 14, 2016, Petitioner Lam Research Corp. filed a Petition for
`
`Inter Partes Review regarding U.S. Patent No. 5,711,849 ("the '849 patent")
`
`pursuant to 35 U.S.C. § 311 and 37 C.F.R. § 42.104(b)(d) (Paper No. 1), seeking
`
`inter partes review of claims 1-29 of the '849 patent. On July 19, 2016, the Patent
`
`Trial and Appeal Board issued its "Decision Denying Institution of Inter Partes
`
`Review" (Paper No. 7) on July 19, 2016. Petitioner also filed a "Request for
`
`Rehearing" (Paper No. 8) on August 17, 2016, which was denied by the Board in
`
`their "Decision" (Paper No. 9) issued November 9, 2016.
`
`Petitioner hereby requests a refund of $14,600 for the post-institution fees
`
`($14,000 post-institution fee, $600 excess claims fee) under 37 C.F.R. §42.15(a)(2)
`
`submitted with the filing of the Petition. The amount may be deposited to PTO
`
`Deposit Account No. 09-0946.
