`The Digestive Health Physicians Association (DHPA) is a trade
`association currently comprised of 62 independent
`gastroenterology (GI) physician practices across the country

`practices and their patients. Our members continually strive to improve patient care and
`outcomes by supporting healthcare policy that promotes accessible, high quality and cost-
`efficient medicine in the independent GI medical practice setting.

`Our Mission
`As gastroenterologists who have chosen to care for our patients in independent medical
`practices, we are keenly aware of the many threats that our groups— and ultimately our
`patients—face due to the changing healthcare landscape. And while our existing national
`societies play a vital role advocating on our behalf, it is clear that those of us who offer
`patients the choice of receiving the highest quality, affordable gastroenterological care in the
`independent medical practice setting need a voice on the national and state levels focused
`exclusively on promoting and preserving the integrated model of care we deliver to our
`patients.

`Our mission is focused:

`(cid:122) Gather, analyze and benchmark data relevant to independent GI practices.
`(cid:122) Develop a strong data story to support education and advocacy on the federal and state
`levels that aims to protect the integrated model of care delivered by our member
`practices.
`(cid:122) Work and coordinate with the trade associations and medical societies that represent
`the interests of other physician specialties that are similarly committed to protecting and
`promoting the integrated model of care delivered by independent medical practices.

`Established in 1948 by Dr. Stuart A. Safdi, Ohio Gastroenterology and Liver Institute (“Ohio GI”)
`is the most comprehensive and integrated private Gastroenterology and Liver medical practice
`in the Tri-State area. Covering numerous office locations in Cincinnati, Fairfield and the
`surrounding suburbs and counties with 20 full-time gastroenterology physicians (many on
`Cincinnati Magazine’s “Top Doctors” list) and several certified physician assistants, Ohio GI is
`unique in that it effectively combines unparalleled personalized expertise with prompt
`appointments in geographically convenient offices and “neighborhood” Endoscopy Centers.
`We also provide inpatient and outpatient care at most of our area’s leading private hospitals.
