`I. BACKGROUND
`
`Petitioner’s Motion for Pro Hac Vice Admission is being filed in
`
`compliance with and pursuant to the “Order – Authorization Motion for Pro
`
`Hac Vice Admission” in Case No. IPR2013-00639 [“the Order”].
`
`II. STATEMENT OF FACTS
`
`As required by the Order, the following statement of facts shows that
`
`there is good cause for the Board to recognize Mr. Sauer pro hac vice.
`
`Mr. Sauer is an experienced litigation attorney and has been involved in
`
`numerous complex patent litigations. Mr. Sauer’s biography is attached hereto
`
`as Exhibit A.
`
`Mr. Sauer is familiar with the subject matter at issue in this proceeding
`
`and has reviewed U.S. Patent No. 8,141,154, the prior art at issue, the
`
`petition, preliminary response, institution decision, patent owner response
`
`filed in this proceeding.
`
`Therefore, Petitioner respectfully submits that there is good cause for
`
`the Board to recognize Mr. Sauer as counsel pro hac vice during this
`
`proceeding.

`Peter Sauer is an associate in the Intellectual Property Litigation practice group and a
`member of the firm's Litigation department. He joined Cooley in 2011 and is resident in the
`Colorado office.
`
`Peter's practice focuses on the representation of clients in connection with intellectual
`property disputes with an emphasis on patent litigation. He has experience litigating patent
`infringement suits involving blade server hardware, e-commerce systems, targeted
`advertising systems, enterprise authentication software, SAN storage arrays and data
`compression software. Peter also maintains an active pro bono practice, including work
`with the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network and the Center for Juvenile Justice.
`
`Peter attended the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as a contributing
`editor for the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review. During law
`school, he also worked as a legal intern at the United Nations Conference on Trade and
`Development in Geneva, Switzerland.
