`
`DAIFUKU WEBB HOLDING COMPANY TO SHOWCASE ITS SYSTEM
`
`AUTOMATION MANAGER AND SMARTPANEL HMI DISPLAY AT
`
`MODEX SHOW
`
`Daifuku Webb
`
`Daifuku Webb Holding Company the leading provider of material handling solutions — will showcase its
`
`latest innovations including System Automation Manager (SAM) and SmartPanel HMI display. SAM is a
`
`robust, easily-configured control system for Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and SmartCart® Automatic
`
`Guided Carts (AGCs). SAM can be easily customized to meet customers‘ individual needs and improve the
`
`efficiency of AGV and AGC systems. Benefits of SAM include, centralized vehicle management, graphical
`
`user interface, easy integration and comprehensive reports. SAM interfaces with major PLCs, Warehouse
`
`Management Systmes (WMS), and SmartPane| HM] displays. SAM talks to each vehicle every second via
`
`Ethernet. Connection to the host system is constantly maintained via a hardwire connection. SAM monitors
`
`the locations and destinations of all vehicles. It makes decisions at intersections to prevent collisions and
`
`improve system efficiency. Other plant automation can interface with SAM to affect vehicte movement. Also,
`
`SAM monitors a vehicle's battery level and directs it to battery charging or exchange station when needed.
`
`SAM determines a vehicle's route by taking into consideration vehicle congestion and faulted vehicles. As
`
`an option, SAM can be configured to include a transport manager that creates jobs and puts them in a job
`
`queue. If there are no jobs, it directs vehicles towards work activity to reduce travel time when a job is
`
`assigned. Jobs are assigned in a FIFO order or based on a selection order defined at each dispatching
`station.

`
`fgf4SmanPane| HMI display will also be showcased at Modex_
`€SmartPanel
`is an industrial user interface that is
`iconfigurable to interface with SAM, via Ethernet. to call and
`
`
`_ - ,,dispatch AGVs and AGCs from work stations. SmartPanel’s
`iergonornic interface eliminates unnecessary stress on the
`-employees. SrnartPanel HMls can be configured or
`
`
`
`3 customized specifically for the application. Small
`
`applications benefit from using SmartPanel because of the
`
`reduced cost and additional functionality.
