`Director Analytical Services Laboratory 1995-2005: Management of a shared laboratory with $5-10
`million of analytical instrumentation (NMR spectrometers, mass spectrometers, X-ray crystallography,
`optical spectroscopy, elemental analysis, thermal analysis); writing of government- funded or other
`instrument proposals to acquire this instrumentation; evaluation and purchase of such instrumentation;
`supervision of a staff of 6 professionals who operated and maintained this instrumentation and trained
`customers in its use; budget preparation and reconciliation in compliance with government cost
`accounting standards; interaction with customers on and outside the campus environment. This position
`allowed me to introduce the use of more high level analytical instruments into the undergraduate
`laboratory courses.
