`
`(54) Title: LED LAMP FOR AUTOMOBILE AND THE LIKE
`
`The present invention relates to a clearance lamp (hereinafter, “CL”)
`
`incorporated in a headlamp (hereinafter, “HL") of an automobile.
`
`In a conventional CL-incorporated HL, an attachment hole is provided in
`
`a part of a reflection mirror to attach a separate CL using an incandescent bulb.
`
`Therefore, there has been a problem that an attachment hole portion of the
`
`reflection mirror becomes an optically invalid portion, deteriorating light
`
`distribution characteristics and at the same time, and giving bad appearance
`
`when looking at the HL.
`
`The present invention solves this problem, and is characterized by softly
`
`brightening an entire surface of a lens without generating an optically invalid
`
`portion on a reflection lens, by placing LED at a lower end of an outer
`
`circumference of a lens, in lieu of an incandescent bulb.
`
`Hereinafter,
`
`the present
`
`invention will be described based on the

`
`drawings.
`
`in the drawings, Fig.1 and Fig.2 are a front view and an arrow A
`
`sectional view of a CL-incorporated HL of the present invention, and Fig.3 and
`
`Fig.4 are drawings equivalent to Fig.2, showing other two examples of the same.
`
`In Fig.1 and Fig.2 showing the present invention, 1 denotes a housing of
`
`HL to which a lens 2 and a blub 3 are attached, and a CL 4 formed by a print
`
`board 5 on which LED 6 is mounted is incorporated. Thus, when the CL 4 is
`
`turned on, the light 7 is transmitted by being repeatedly reflected in the lens, and
`
`becomes indication light 8 to softly illuminate the entire surface of the lens 2.
`
`Therefore, there is novelty in that an optically invalid portion is not generated on
`
`a reflection mirror and at the same time, an entire surface of the lens 2 is
`
`brightened. Other examples shown in Fig.3 and Fig.4 are application examples
`
`of an attachment space of HL and an end portion of a lens of other shapes, Fig.3
`
`shows an example mounted on an outside of a housing 11 to which a lens 12 is
`
`attached, 14 denotes a CL in which the print board 5 on which LED 6 is mounted
`
`is provided, and a lens 16 is provided for
`
`improving light distribution
`
`characteristics.
`
`Fig.4 shows an example mounted inside a housing 21 to which
`
`a lens 22 is attached, 24 denotes a CL in which the print board 5 on which LED 6
`
`is mounted is provided, a projection 25 is provided on a lens 26 and a lens 22 in
`
`order to improve light distribution characteristics, and as for each of them, entire
`
`surfaces of the lenses 12, 22 are softly brightened by the indication light 8 in the
`
`same manner as the present invention.
`
`According to the present invention, the CL is as described above, and
`
`there is an advantage that it is possible to solve the conventional problem.
