`ABSTRACT
`A table attaching construction for nursing chairs has
`longitudinally extending right- and left-hand table sup
`port frames, a table disposed on these table support
`frames, and right- and left-hand operating levers. The
`right- and left-hand operating levers are adapted to be
`turned between ?rst locking and second release posi
`tions. When the operating levers are each in the first
`position, they are in engagement with the outer lateral
`portions and lower portions of the table support frames.
`When the operating levers are each in the second posi
`tion, such engagement is canceled. The table attaching
`construction for nursing chairs further includes right
`and left-hand slide members, and springs for urging
`these slide members to slide inwardly. Each slide mem
`ber has an opening for the associated operating lever to
`extend vertically therethrough. Under the action of the
`springs, the wall surfaces of the openings in the slide
`members press the operating levers to maintain the
`latter in the ?rst locking position. If an operating lever
`provided on one side of the table is turned to the second
`position and then, in this state, if the table is pushed to
`move toward the other side, then the engagement be
`tween the pair of operating levers and the pair of table
`support frames is canceled and the table can be removed
`by one hand only.

`TABLE A'ITACI-IING CONSTRUCTION FOR
`NURSING CHAIRS
`
`FIELD OF THE INVENTION
`This invention relates to a table for a nursing chair.
`When a baby is seated on the nursing chair, food or a
`toy is placed on the table for the baby to eat or to play
`with, respectively. More particularly, the invention
`relates to a construction for removably attaching a table
`to a nursing chair.
`
`DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART
`This type of table attaching construction is disclosed
`in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 21331/ 1981.
`FIG. 9 is a sectional view of the table attaching con
`struction for nursing chairs disclosed in said publica
`tion.
`The table 1 is disposed on a pair of longitudinally
`extending lateral plates 2 on the right- and left-hand
`sides of a nursing chair. In the state shown in FIG. 9, an
`operating lever 3 is urged by the action of a cylindrical
`coil spring 4 toward the back of the table 1, with the
`?tting portion 3a of the operating lever 3 ?tting on the
`lower surface of the rib 2a of the lateral plates 2. As a
`result, the operating lever 2 ?xes the table 1 in position
`while embracing the rib 20.
`To remove the table 1 from the lateral plates 2 and
`out of the state shown, the user grips the right- and
`left-hand operating levers 3 with the hands and turns
`the right- and left-hand operating levers outwardly as
`shown in phantom lines in FIG. 9 against the forces of
`the cylindrical springs 4. And then, still holding the
`operating levers 3, the operator moves the table 1 up
`wardly, whereby the table 1 is separated from the nurs
`ing chair.
`The table attaching construction described above
`requires both hands for removing the table 1 from the
`lateral plates 2. Therefore, if she is holding a child in
`one arm, it is impossible for her to remove the table, a
`fact which is inconvenient.

`left-hand slide members urged as described above, the
`wall surfaces of the openings in the right- and left-hand
`slide members press the right- and left-hand operating
`levers to maintain them in the ?rst position.
`Using one hand, the user grips one side of the table
`and also the operating lever disposed on one side of the
`table and turns said operating lever into the second
`position, whereby the engagement between the operat
`ing lever and the table support frame on one side is
`cancelled. In this state, the operator pushes the table
`toward the other side to move it in that direction, with
`the result that the engagement between the operating
`lever and the table support frame on the other side is
`cancelled.
`As described above, according to the invention, the
`table can be removed by one hand, so that even if the
`user is holding a child in one arm, it is possible to re
`move the table. Further, since the right hand or the left
`hand may be used to perform the operation, the con
`struction is very convenient in its use.
`These objects and other objects, features, aspects and
`advantages of the present invention will become more
`apparent from the following detailed description of the
`present invention when taken in conjunction with the
`accompanying drawings.

`
`SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
`Accordingly, it is an object of the invention to pro
`vide a table attaching construction for nursing chairs
`which requires only one hand for removing the table.
`A table attaching construction for nursing chairs
`according to the invention comprises longitudinally
`extending right- and left-hand table support frames on
`the right- and left-hand sides of a nursing chair, a table
`disposed on said right- and left-hand table support
`frames, and right- and left-hand operating levers on the
`right- and left-hand sides of said table.
`The right- and left-hand operating levers are each
`adapted to be turned between ?rst and second positions.
`When the right- and left-hand operating levers are both
`in the ?rst position, they engage the outer lateral por
`tions and lower portions of the right- and left~hand table
`support frames. Further, when the right- and left-hand
`operating levers are both in the second position, the
`aforesaid engagement is cancelled.
`The present table attaching construction for nursing
`chairs further comprises right- and left-hand slide mem
`bers transversely slidable in the table, and springs for
`urging the right- and left-hand slide members to slide
`inwardly. The right- and left-hand slide members each
`have an opening through which the associated operat
`ing lever extends vertically. Further, with the right- and
