`("Provisional")
`"One inventive concept of the present
`invention is to provide a capping device
`configured to be used for terminating a
`connector when the connector is disengaged
`from another connector in a fluid
`transportation system." (Provisional, p.3, ll.9-
`11).
`"said first connector comprising an exposed
`surface portion which is enclosed when the
`first connector is connected to the second
`connector." (Provisional, p.3, ll.24-25).
`
`"a body defining a chamber with an opening"
`(Provisional, p.3, ll.25-26).
`"a liquid-containing disinfectant in the
`chamber" (Provisional, p.3, ll.26).
`"a sealing element arranged in the opening to
`form a sealed cavity retaining the
`disinfectant" (Provisional, p.3, ll.26-27).
`"a structure for engaging and guiding the first
`connector towards the body such that a
`portion of the first connector displaces the
`sealing element into the chamber,"
`(Provisional, p.3, ll.28-29).
`"the sealing element comprises a
`circumferential portion in contact with a
`cylindrical wall portion of the chamber during
`said displacement, wherein the disinfectant is
`pressed to flow past said circumferential
`portion." (Provisional, p.3, l.38 – p.4, l.3).
`"wherein the 30 sealed cavity is configured
`such that a displacement of the sealing
`element into the chamber actively presses the

`
`1[a]. A capping device configured to
`terminate a first connector while disconnected
`from a second connector a fluid transportation
`system,
`
`[1b.] said first connector comprising an
`exposed surface portion, said exposed surface
`portion being enclosed when the first
`connector is connected to the second
`connector, said capping device comprising:

`an opening;
`[1d.] a liquid-containing disinfectant in the
`chamber;
`[1e.] a sealing element arranged in the
`opening to form a sealed cavity retaining the
`disinfectant; and
`[1f.] a structure configured to engage and
`guide the first connector towards the body
`such that a portion of the first connector
`displaces the sealing element into the
`chamber,
`[1g.] wherein a circumferential portion of the
`sealing element is in continuous contact with
`a cylindrical wall portion of the chamber
`during a displacement of the sealing element
`into the chamber, and
`
`[1h.] the sealed cavity is configured such that
`the displacement of the sealing element into
`the chamber causes a pressure inside the
`sealed cavity to increase, thereby actively
`pressing the disinfectant out of the sealed
`cavity and on to at least part of the exposed
`surface portion.
