`Judges Blankenship, Braden, and Begley attended a conference call
`on March 11, 2015. Also attending were counsel for Patent Owner and
`counsel for Petitioner. Patent Owner requested the call seeking
`authorization to file a motion to stay the proceeding in Reexamination
`Control No. 90/012,987, which is the ex parte reexamination of the patent
`that is the subject of these cases.
`After hearing from the parties, the panel informed the parties that
`there was not sufficient reason to authorize a motion to stay the related
`reexamination proceeding at this time. These cases are in the preliminary
`proceeding stage and a decision on whether to institute a trial has not been
`made. The reexamination proceeding is currently in an appeal status in the
`Central Reexamination Unit. 35 U.S.C. § 305 requires that reexamination
`proceedings be conducted with special dispatch within the Office.
`The parties were informed that Patent Owner may renew its request
`for authorization to file a motion to stay if trial is instituted in any of these
`cases or when an appeal from an Examiner’s adverse decision in the
`reexamination proceeding is docketed at the Board.
