`
`Glass reduces the angle and has better polarizing characteristics due n. We can eliminate the outboard prisms and
`use front surface mirrors but there may br good mechanical reasons to use glass.

`
`Rod has found a good mechanical engineering group that can help with a mount. I thought we could avoid the glass
`block with silvered mirrors?

`
`It's not good to have to throw out 'scope.
`
`We need to have a way to determine the falloff of polarization efficiency with horizontal angle.

`
`ELCAN is converging to providing feasibility information to us for a June 5 "meeting". I am expecting that they
`will respond to my request early next week.
`
`Their questions and concerns are principally around the cone angle that needs to be managed by the system. I have
`given them 30 degrees which represents around a 1.8:1 throw ratio. Going wider is significantly problematic. (and
`30 degrees may be, too.) One question we may need to answer is how useful a narrower angle device would be?
`
`The other factor is that this device is going to be a large glass block, weighing kilograms, and too heavy to mount
`directly onto the lens. We will need to think about a means to attach it to the projector, and a means to move it out
`of the way when not needed. (anamorph mount).
