`I’ve answered your questions in the body of the email.
`
`
`Note to all. Real D is going to be here next Friday for our Final Design Review. I will not be here but will do most of the
`top level charts – with the requirements. You guys will have to address the design approach and issues. I will also do a
`schedule. I think this will be a 2-3 hour meeting. I am traveling back from Boston that AM and will be in CLD by 12:30PM.
`
`
`The meeting is scheduled for 8:00Am @ CDS.

`
`Just want to let you know that I have not contacted CL for HWP as I have been awaiting an introduction. Do
`you want me to proceed contacting them or wait a little more? We need a drawing and then go ahead and
`contact CL, let them know you are working with CDS.
`
`
`Do we still want RealD to provide Z-screens with and wthout linear polarizers? No, because of the lower defect
`spec for the WGP. For the ones that do not have LP integrated, would RealD supply the LPs separately? N/A
`Or we abandoned this idea and the Z-screen will come with LP? See first question
`
`
`Regarding lens spec and throw ratio, I see Lenny is checking with his team. So I'll wait for them to tell us the
`exact configuration before I refine my model. Agree? Yes
`
`I am still waiting for quote from Raymond and I'll follow up with him today. OK
`
`
`For the 45 deg. turning mirror, do you want to pay extra for enhanced aluminum coating with about 94-95%
`reflectivity? Protected aluminum can give us about 91-92% reflectivity, which is what was assumed in the
`existing $245 quote. Enhanced to get the most through put. We will need a first order transmission analysis for
`each path so we can predict the luminance gain by combining the two paths.

`Anything else you see that I should take care at this time? I am prepared to send you my 1st bi-weekly
`invoice. Is that OK? OK

`Ragarding CL's linear polarizer, it is used in the case when the Z-screen does not include one as one
`possible configuration that we discussed at RealD. Maybe RealD will supply that and we don't need
`to. Is this one more thing to confirm with RealD? Should I wait for RealD's introduction before
`contacting CL even though I think it is better that way?

`Please see if you agree with the following action items:
`
`
` *
`
` YML to get quote from Moxtek for PBF02 of 1.6x110x140mm size with AR. Lead time
`about 3 weeks according to Ray. CDS to provide part drawing ASAP.?Mahir to provide
`drawing to YM to add comments.
`* YML to get quotations for flat mirror of 1"x12"OD with aluminum coating. Enahnced
`aluminum available at additional cost, please decide. My preliminary quote is $245 each and 3
`week lead time.?We will go with the flat mirror and try to deform.
`* CDS to decide if a plunger can effectively create a spherical radius of 100m to 400m from a
`1" flat mirror. Otherwise, a spherical mirror of 200m radius would be a better choice to lessen

`

`the force required to change radius. A preliminary quote of $1500-2000 is given to me. Lead
`time TBD.?See above
`* YML to get quote for Colorlink linear polarizer. It would be better if RealD could introduce
`us to Colorlink and we just use the same part as currently used on their Z-screen. I assume the
`standalone polarizer needs to be embedded in glass substrates. I will find out what is available
`from Colorlink.?I don¡¦t think we need the polarizer from CL but the 1.2 wave plate ¡V correct?
`* YML to get quote for HWP from Colorlink. See above
`* YML to get quotes for input window and other windows. CDS to advise sizes. Mahir action
`* CDS to decide with RealD if lens front cover can be cut ASAP so that my model can be
`properly set up. This would have impact to proflux sizes. RealD CEO has raised negative
`comment.?Again we need to get the largest ProFlux and go from there. They will modify the
`projector they have.
`
` I
`
` look forward to your inputs and please let me know if I missed anything. Thank you.

`
`I think we need to understand the relationship of TR and EFL/FOV. In any case we want to
`make the most out of the ProFlux but it looks like we will be OK.

`
`
`Thank you for following up on the issues with RealD and hope to get their answers
`soon. Please review the attached preliminary report on the effects of throw ratios and
`let me know your comments and suggestions. I might add a case for TR=2.2, but it
`may not be needed because there should be no issues to the component sizes. It
`appears that all cases with TR from 1.6 to 2.2 are all OK for Proflux size. I'll study
`more to make sure and look forward to your inputs as well.

`
`I few issues with the comments below:
`
`
`#1 I may have Jury Duty on the 22nd but schedule anyway.
`
`
`#3 I don't believe that we can not machine down the lens. typically this part belongs
`to the theater and they would not be happy with that approach.
`
`
`#6 The lenses are actually made by Minolta, not Cannon.
`
`
`#7 I would design this full the full image area. The total DMD array is
`2048x1080. typically we do 1920x807 scope and 1668x900 for flat. however, we
`expect to go to full array by June of next year so I would prefer to design for that.
`
`I can follow up with Colorlink. What specifically do you need from them?

`To: Lenny Lipton
`Subject: Actions From the Meeting with RealD
`Lenny:
`
`It was good seeing you again yesterday and getting another look at the projectors.
`
`
`The following are open items/actions we need to take.
`
`
`1. Schedule for next review schedule in Carlsbad I proposed the AM of
`Sept 22nd Friday to Matt and he will get back to me
`2. The best projector for the first system is the Christie; given it has accessible
`mounting hardware with a protruding lens Sound correct
`3. The lens will need to have the shield machined down so we can get the PBS
`assembly as close to the lens as possible ditto
`4. 2D & 3D CAD for the projector with inset lens; Roberto Action Roberto
`we need you for these three items
`5. Z-Screen assembly including the optic, connectors, and mounting hardware;
`Roberto Action
`6. Specs on the Canon lenses that are available for use with the various
`projectors; Roberto Action
`7. What is the usable active area of the DLP? We heard that 30% is not used.
`This is very important information as it helps us better understand the
`sizing. We have to plan this for the full image area. Matt --
`do you know the size?
`8. Z-Screens may not require an input polarizer; but I suggest RealD provide
`both versions. If not needed it will increase transmission. We had
`assumed that clean-up polarizers might be required as
`needed and the prototype can be built with naked
`ZScreens so we can add or subtract sheet polarizers as
`required.
`
`
`
`Lastly; you were going to send an email to Color Link and inform then that CDS is an
`important supplier to RealD and that the work they are doing you CDS is a
`priority. I'll speak to Josh.
`
`If I can think of anything else I¡¦ll follow-up.
