`Ericsson Inc. and Telefonaktiebolaget Lm Ericsson (collectively,
`“Petitioner”) request rehearing of the Board’s decision instituting an inter partes
`review, entered February 4, 2015, to the extent the decision denied review of
`claims 8–12 and 18–22 of U.S. Patent No. 7,787,431 B2 (Ex. 1001) (the “’431
`patent”). Paper 13 (“Req. Reh’g”).

`Upon consideration of the request for rehearing, we authorize Patent Owner
`to file an opposition, not to exceed five pages and to be filed no later than five
`business days after the mailing of this Order. If Patent Owner elects to file an
`opposition, it should address only the arguments contained in the request for
`rehearing. Specifically, the opposition shall only address whether the Board
`overlooked pages 9–12 of the Petition (Paper 2), which assert that Yamaura
`discloses transmitting control signals “by means of a carrier whose band is
`narrower than that for said multi-carrier signals.” Req. Reh’g (quoting Paper 2,
`10). Any arguments beyond that scope will be disregarded.
`Accordingly, it is
`ORDERED that Patent Owner is authorized to file, no later than five
`business days from the mailing date of this Order, an opposition to Petitioner’s
`request for rehearing of no more than 5 pages.
