`Consolidating Proceedings

`1 On January 1, 2015, Samsung Telecommunications America, LLC, an
`originally-named Petitioner in this case, was merged into Samsung
`Electronics America, Inc. See IPR2014-01181, Paper 9.
`

`On January 30, 2015, we instituted inter partes review of U.S. Patent
`
`No. 8,532,641 B2 in IPR2014-01181, IPR2014-01182, and IPR2014-01184.
`
`See Paper 10 (in each of the proceedings). During a consolidated initial
`
`conference call for the three cases, we indicated our intent to consolidate the
`
`three cases. See IPR2014-01181, Paper 14, 3–4. The parties did not object
`
`to consolidation, but requested additional pages for briefing due to certain
`
`complexities in the cases. Id. at 3. By email of March 20, 2015, the parties
`
`requested 132 pages for the consolidated Patent Owner Response and
`
`33 pages for the Reply.
`

`Under the present circumstances, we determine that consolidating the
`
`three cases, which each involve the same patent, is justified. See 37 C.F.R.
`
`§ 42.122(a). Accordingly, we consolidate the trial in IPR2014-01181 with
`
`the trials in IPR2014-01182 and IPR2014-01184, and terminate the
`
`proceedings in IPR2014-01182 and IPR2014-01184. All future filings shall
`
`be made in IPR2014-01181.
`

`Patent Owner shall be allowed 132 pages for its consolidated Patent
`
`Owner Response and Petitioner shall be allowed 33 pages for its Reply.
`

`
`
`Accordingly, it is:
`
`ORDERED that IPR2014-01182 and IPR2014-01184 are consolidated
`
`with IPR2014-01181;
`
`
`
`FURTHER ORDERED that IPR2014-01182 and IPR2014-01184 are
`
`terminated; and
`
`
`
`FURTHER ORDERED that all further case filings shall be made in
`
`IPR2014-01181.
