`Dr. Warren H. Lieberman is President of Veritec Solutions. Veritec is a consulting and
`software development firm focused on helping companies optimize their pricing and
`revenue management (P&RM) capabilities. Veritec is based in Belmont, California with
`staff offices in San Rafael, California and Boston, Massachusetts.
`
`Dr. Lieberman has been a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Revenue and
`Pricing Management since its inaugural issue in 2002. From 2007 – 2010, he served on
`the Board of Directors for the Institute for Operations Research and the Management
`Sciences (INFORMS) as Vice President, Information Technology. INFORMS is a
`professional society for Operations Researchers with over 10,000 members. He has
`served as Chair of the Revenue Management and Pricing Section of INFORMS. During
`the past several years he has been a Member or Chair of various INFORMS Revenue
`Management and Pricing Award Committees, including the INFORMS Revenue
`Management and Pricing Section Prize, awarded for the best contribution to the science of
`pricing and revenue management published in English. In the late 1980’s, Warren served
`briefly as Chairman of the Yield Management Study Group of the Airline Group of the
`International Federation of Operations Research Societies (AGIFORS).
`
`Warren began his career in yield management at American Airlines in 1984. His
`professional responsibilities have also included integrating yield management into the
`consulting services of Arthur D. Little and leading the Travel and Hospitality Industries
`Consulting Practice for Decision Focus Incorporated and then Talus.
`
`He is an internationally recognized expert in revenue management, especially in “non-
`traditional” implementations. Combining his Operations Research-based modeling skills
`with a strong emphasis on ensuring that P&RM programs reflect industry operations as
`well as business processes and policies, Warren has helped clients in more than two dozen
`industries.
`
`Dr. Lieberman’s focus areas include performance measurement, Quick Wins that enable
`companies to obtain early gains from P&RM programs, education and training programs,
`and using multiple signals to support pricing and inventory control decisions.
`
`He pioneered the application of revenue management techniques in the cruise, timeshare
`exchange, self-storage, and equipment leasing industries, providing both design and
`technical leadership. In the 1980’s, Warren designed some of the earliest multi-method
`adaptive demand forecasting techniques used in revenue management systems.

`Dr. Lieberman places a strong emphasis on educating his clients about the principles of
`revenue management and the factors that typically lead to revenue management success.
`His assignments have included:

` Designing dynamic pricing optimization systems for self-storage firms
` Designing a pricing optimization approach for tradeshow organizers
` Designing a price optimization/revenue management system for self-storage firms
` Helping restructure the Revenue Management Department of a major European
`airline so it could more effectively compete with low-cost carriers as well as more
`established long-haul carriers. As the carrier’s business environment had
`undergone significant change, many of the yield management processes it had
`been relying on were no longer as effective as they once were.
` Assessing the revenue management capabilities of both small and large airlines,
`including the capabilities of their revenue management systems, and identifying
`opportunities for improvement
` Assisting an airline evaluate alternative revenue management systems and select
`the one best suited to their needs
` Designing performance metrics to enable a passenger railroad to evaluate the
`impacts of its pricing and revenue management decisions
` Helping a European car rental firm start down the revenue management path with
`respect to both pricing and inventory control
` Evaluating the yield management capabilities of a passenger railroad (systems as
`well as business processes) and developing a road-map to address critical problems
`that had arisen as a result of deficiencies in their yield management system
`Identifying revenue management opportunities for a firm that sells advertising
`time/space on internet sites

`He has led numerous revenue management workshops.

`Dr. Lieberman received the B.S. degree in Mathematics with a specialization in computer
`science from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He holds a Ph.D. in
`Operations Research from Yale University.
