`These days, women aren't letting a little pregnancy get between them and their Prada. Chic motl1ers—in-wailing are now altering their own designer
`clothes to fit burgeoning bellies —— sewing elastic triangles into hip seams, adding stretch panels to waistbands or lengthening hemlines on blouses.
`"When I was pregnant, I figured I may never be able to fit into my nice clothes again, so why not alter them?" said Jeanine Lobell, the creator of Stila
`Cosmefics, who stitched elastic panels into the waistbands of Helmut Lang pants and the seams of Dries Van Noten blouses. "When you find a
`designer you like, you don't want to have to give the clothes up because you're pregnant." For like—minded do-it-yourselfers, the Denim Doctors at
`Fred Segal in Los Angeles will tailor jeans to fit an expanding girth for a fee of $30, while Liz Lange Maternity sells elasticized, pull-up versions of
`jeans by labels like Citizens of Humanity and Earl for $175 a pair. Bella Bands —— soft, stretchy tubes for the waist ($25.95 at
`www.pregnancystore.co1n) -- can provide wardrobe extensions by letting women wear regular skirts and pants, unbuttoned and unzipped. And
`Dynasty Tailors in New York City (212-679-1075) and Susie's Custom Design in Los Angeles (323-462-5520) will maternitize clothes with elastic
