`My name is Louise Clarke and I am Deputy Superintendent of the Manuscripts Reading

`Room at Cambridge University Library (CUL).
`
`I have worked at CUL since 1988, and have

`been responsible for processing and cataloguing theses since September 2001.
`
`l was recently contacted by David Nickless, a solicitor with King & Wood Mallesons LLP in
`London.
`I was asked whether I could verify the dates on which the following four theses
`
`specified below were added to the CUL catalogue.
`
`I understand that this is an issue in court
`
`proceedings in the United States.

`l reviewed the catalogue entries for each of the Theses and was able to see that the Theses
`
`were approved (by the Board of Graduate Studies) on the following dates:

`on Wednesday 30 June 1999)

`
`Reporter on Wednesday 15 January 1997)
`0 Cohen, A.D. — 24 July 1998 (author/title published in the Cambridge University

`Unfortunately, the CUL catalogue was updated from an in-house database to the Voyager
`Library Management System in 2002 and, as a result, for catalogue items which pre-date
`2002 we are unable to ascertain from our records the exact date on which they were added to
`
`the CUL catalogue. I cannot ascertain the exact date on which the Theses were added to the
`catalogue.

`Therefore, although I cannot ascertain the exact dates on which the Theses were added to

`the catalogue, it is my true and reasonable belief that each would probably have been added

`Board of Graduate Studies.
