`Stalk Stomper
`Installation Instructions
`
`Lankota, Inc.
`
`
`
`
`
`A.
`
`
`
`B.
`
`
`
`
`Preparation
`
`1. Raise the head off the ground and lower the safety stop on feeder house cylinder.
`
`Installation of Stalk Stomper
`
`1. In most cases the stalk stomper universal mounting plate can be easily mounted to
`any row unit utilizing the two mounting bolts. (See Figure 1)
`
`2. Remove nuts and lock washers. Install mounting plate utilizing existing nuts but
`do not use lock washers due to limited thread length. Use LOCKTITE to secure
`nuts instead.
`
`
`3. Slide Stalk Stomper (LAN SS601 included in kit LANSS600) on to Mounting
`Bracket (LAN SS602) and secure with Hitch Pin (LAN SS604) provided. Install
`key in hitch pin to avoid vibrating out.
`
`C. Installation if cross brace is present under desired row.
`
`
`1. On some corn heads there maybe a diagonal steel brace that runs under desired
`row unit that prevents mounting in the normal position. If this occurs use 2 of the
`6 holes supplied in universal mounting bracket to attach bracket to steel brace. It
`may be necessary to cut off the “lip” portion of the Mounting Bracket
`(LAN SS602) normally used if this interferes with mounting to the steel brace.
`
`
`
`
`2. Align Mounting Bracket (LAN SS602) and drill two 5/8 holes through cross
`brace. Utilize two Bolts (LAN 3726000) and Lock Nuts
`(LAN 042A0003726000 ) to fasten mounting bracket to cross brace.
`(See Figure 2)
`
`
`
`D. Mounting of transport bracket.
`
`
`1. It may be desirable to remove stalk stomper to transport on a trailer or prevent
`excessive down pressure during storage. To facilitate this, mount Bracket
`(LAN SS603) to top rail utilizing 4 Self Tapping Bolts (LAN 1818A) provided.
`Drill four holes 11/32” in size. (See figure 3)
