`2. Overview
`2.1 Previous meeting minutes
`• A prospectus will be prepared separately for corporate associate members (Yamakami, Okada)/For the time
`being, the Matsushita Lab will send materials to the corporate associate members. (Agreed)
`• The academic conference is listed in the VR Society as “Virtual City Space,” but the Virtual City
`(Cyberspace) will be renamed to the Cyberspace Study Committee to facilitate the submission of manuscripts.
`The English [name] is SIG-CyberSpace. (Agreed)

`2.2 2nd Research Preparation Status Report
`• Regarding printing, check with Sankyo Printing to confirm the minimum number and the price for reprints
`(Shiio)
`• In order to centralize printing, printing will be done by Sankyo Printing in units of 100 copies for the Study
`Committee (Agreed)
`• Membership application forms will be sent by Yamakami, who is in charge of registration, to member Shiio,
`who is in charge of printing (Agreed)
`• Datasheets, if issued, should provide income (Okada)/As of June, the VR Society has not issued datasheets.
`Reconfirm with the National Center for Science Information System and the VR Society (Yamakami)
`• Notify the committee member in charge of the email address for inquiries to the VR Society (Yamakami)
`• Regarding copyright, approved as shown in the materials. If a different provision is indicated by the VR
`Society, that shall be incorporated. (Agreed)

`• Reconfirm the supervising committee member(s), and assign the tasks for the venue, PR, and compiling
`manuscripts and others. Member Nunokawa will create the PR materials. On 11/28, Prof. Matsushita shall
`negotiate the support of Prof. Kishimoto (IEICE OFS) for the PR materials. This time, instead of paid
`advertising, a mailing list will be utilized. Manuscript applications will be accepted until 98/1/15; manuscripts
`must be received by 98/2/15. The theme is “general” (Agreed)/The Institute of Image Information and
`Television Engineers can assist (Nemoto)/Mailing list information will be provided (Yamakami)

`2.4 Study Committee Report
`• Approved the Study Committee Report. Accounting information will be sent from Manager Okada to the
`person supervising the report (Agreed)/Yamakami will create the report (Agreed)
`
`2.5 Planning for next year
`• 3 Study Committee meetings and 1 symposium are planned; for publicity each Study Group meeting will be
`held together with existing study groups.
`The June 1998 Study Committee meeting will be coordinated with the IEICE IN conference by the
`supervisors (Manager: Kanda; Committee members: Asano; Kaneko; Miyazaki (Oki Denki); and Yamakami);
`the September 1998 Study Committee meeting will be coordinated with the IEICE OFS conference by the
`supervisors (Secretary: Nemoto; Committee members: Nunokawa; Matsuda; and Miyazato); and the March
`1999 Study Group meeting will be coordinated with the IPSJ HI conference by the managers (Secretary:
`Miyazaki (Mitsubishi Electric); Committee members: Kiyosue; and Satou; Liaison: Shiio).
`• The (tentative) theme for the November 27, 1998 symposium is “Cyberspace and Groupware,” and it will be
`organized by all secretaries, a liaison to the IPSJ GW conference, and Committee members: Takemura,
`Tanaka, Nishiguchi. The prospective candidates for the venue (in Tokyo) are the Yoyogi Olympics Memorial
`Youth Center, Kogakuin University and the like.
`• Regional conferences will be coordinated with joint study committee meetings and if initiated by the Virtual
`City Study Committee, Akashi, Sendai, Kyoto/Osaka/Nara (NEC, after March, 1998), and the like are
`candidates.
`
`2.6 Member recruitment
`Membership fees have been received from 5 members. To promote membership in the study committee,
`bank transfer information and application forms will be distributed (Agreed).
`
