`

`EXHIBIT

`
`

`

`I, Katsuhide Takahashi, do hereby make the following declaration:
`
`1.
`
`The statements contained in this declaration are based on my personal
`
`knowledge.
`
`I am an engineer at Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (“MEC”) and have been
`
`employed by MEC since 1991. My current title at lVfEC is Manager, C-
`
`Section, Software Design Engineering Dept, Design Systems Engineering
`
`Centre. My job responsibilities at lVIEC include development support for
`
`design systems. In November 1997, my title at MEC was a researcher and
`
`my job responsibilities included study of distributed computing.
`
`On November 27, 1997, I attended a conference held by the SIG—
`
`CyberSpace (“SIG-CS”) of the Virtual Reality Society of Japan (“VRS”).
`At that conference, I presented a paper that I had co—authored.
`
`In 1997, VRS had a website that could be Viewed by any interested member
`
`of the general public. Prior to the November 27, 1997 conference, an
`
`announcement was made on the VRS website about the conference,
`
`including the date, time, and location of the conference. The announcement
`
`invited any interested individual to participate in the conference, and
`
`included additional information such as the program for the conference, the
`
`
`
`

`

`authors and titles of the five papers to be presented, registration information
`
`and applicable fees.
`
`Attached are copies of the VRS website announcement of the November 27,
`
`1997 conference (Exhibit 1T), along With the notice seeking participants for
`
`the conference (Exhibit 2T). I was able to access the VRS website and see
`
`the announcement and notice seeking participants for the November 27,
`
`1997 conference prior to the date of the conference.
`
`MEC hosted this November 27, 1997 conference in one of the conference
`
`rooms of the Landmark Tower in Yokohama. I helped set up the conference
`
`room along with my colleagues at MEC. I was not a member of the SIG-CS
`
`at the time of the conference.
`
`Five papers were presented at the November 27, 1997 conference. The
`
`paper that I co-authored and presented was entitled “A Virtual Park on Top
`
`of Spline — Bicycle Media Park.” Our presentation was the first of five
`
`presentations. Immediately after my presentation, Yasuhiro Kawakita
`
`presented a paper entitled “Generation of Panoramic Stereo Images from
`
`Monocular Moving Images.”
`
`During the conference, copies of a booklet containing the five papers being
`
`presented were made available to all participants. The booklet was entitled
`
`

`

`“Virtual Reality Society of Japan Research Report” and was dated
`
`November 27, 1997.
`
`9.
`
`At the conference, these booklets were piled on the reception desk leading
`
`into the conference room. I stood at the reception desk and saw conference
`
`participants taking copies of the booklet. I also took a copy of the booklet,
`
`and reviewed it while listening to the other four presentations.
`
`10.
`
`The booklet included a table of contents at the beginning, which identified
`
`the five papers being presented at the conference. My paper was listed first,
`
`and Mr. Kawakita’s paper was listed second.
`
`11. Attached is a copy of the booklet for the November 27, 1997 conference
`
`(Exhibit 3T). As a person who helped the reception and participated in the
`
`conference, I was not advised or instructed to treat the booklet as
`
`confidential.
`
`I declare under penalties of perjury set out in 18 U.S.C. § 1001 that the foregoing
`
`statements are true and correct to the best of my knowledge.
`
`
`
`Executed on March L6 , 2013.
