` selective call paging transceiver and method are provided for the
`
`automatic reception and storage of messages at set periods of time. The
`
`paging transceiver utilizes a timer which is set for a time period in which a
`
`paging subscriber wishes to receive a specific message or plurality of
`
`messages. When the time period expires, the paging transceiver transmits
`
`data to a paging system indicating which message or plurality of messages
`
`are to be transmitted to the paging transceiver. The paging transceiver
`
`receives and stores the messages and transmits conformation to the paging
`
`system that the desired messages have been received.

`It is an object of the present invention to provide a paging transceiver for
`
`receiving messages such as report updates at specific periods of time.
`

`It is another object of the invention to provide a paging transceiver for
`
`receiving messages during period of time when air time costs are reduced
`
`such as 1:00 a.m. when system usage is minimal.
`
`
`
`It is yet another object of the invention to provide a paging transceiver for
`
`transmitting or forwarding messages at a preset period of time.
`
`
`
`It is still another object of the invention to transmit or receive messages
`
`responsive to a set time and message identification information
`
`corresponding to the messages to be received or transmitted.
