`Referring to the drawing, A designates a
`cabinet or box constructed of wood or other
`suitable material and of such size as to be
`conveniently portable and this box is divided
`into sections corresponding to the various
`parts of the theater, hall, or the like, having
`seats, as for instance, orchestra, orchestra
`circle, balcony, gallery, etc.
`In the present
`instance,
`the cabinet
`is
`formed with an.
`orchestra sectiori (L and a gallery section b, and
`each section. is provided. with groups of pock—
`cts or tills 1 which are laid out after the
`fashion of the seats of the theater or hall for
`which the device is to be uSed, and between
`' the groups of pockets are strips ‘2 which bear
`characters such as letters for designating the
`various pockets or tills of
`the respective
`groups,
`the letters corresponding with the
`letters of the rows of seats of the theater.
`The portion of the cabinet that corresponds
`to the stage is divided into compartments 3
`which may be used for receiving money.
`The wall at one end of the cabinet is ex—
`tended vertically and to this extended por~
`tion is hinged a lid 5 which folds down over
`the cabinet. This lid is held in an inclined
`position by a prop 6 located in the cabinet
`or box at one side thereof and mounted to
`tilt on a pin 7 that passes through a slot 8.
`This prop holds the lid at such an inclination
`that the patrons can readily see the diagram
`of seats arranged on the top of the lid and at
`the same time the cabinet is held open so
`that the seller can conveniently reach the
`tickets asked for.
`In setting the prop, it is
`merely necessary to raise the lid and press
`downwardly on the front end of the prop so
`as to swing the same to the position shown in
`Fig. 1, where the lid will be propped open.
`The lid is constructed in the form of a frame
`the same consisting of
`a bottom plate 7
`over which is spread a printed chart, diagram
`or plan 8 of the theater seats. The rows of
`seats are designated by letters to correspond
`with the pockets and the seats of the rows
`are numbered as shown in Fig. 4. The side
`pieces 9 of the lid are provided with grooves
`10 for receiving a slide or cover 11 for pro—
`tecting the glass 12 when the device is not
`in use.
`From the foregoing description, taken in
`connection with the accompanying drawing,

`To all whom it may concern:
`Be it known that I, LEIGH B. TRAFTON, a
`citizen of
`the United. States, residing at
`Limestone, in the county of Aroostook and
`5 State of Maine, have invented new and useful
`Im rovements in Combined Ticket—Holders
`an Theater-Seat Diagrams, of which the .
`following is a specification.
`This invention relates to a combined ticket
`10 holder and seat indicator for theaters, halls,
`auditoriums, and the like, whereby the
`tickets can be conveniently arranged with
`reference to the seats shown on the diagram
`or indicator, thus enabling the ticket seller to
`easily and quickly obtain the desired tickets
`to be sold and also enabling him to ascertain,
`at a glance, the seats remaining to be sold.
`The invention has for one of its objects to
`provide a device of this character which is
`of simple and inexpensive construction, re-
`liable and efficient in use, and convenient to
`manipulate.
`Another object of the invention is the pro—
`vision of a box or cabinet which is divided
`into a lurality of ticket compartments or
`tills lai out after the plan of the rows of seats
`in the orchestra, orchestra circle, balconies,
`etc. , the tickets or tills being lettered to cor—
`respond with the rows of seats of the theater.
`A further object of the invention is the
`provision of a device of this character having
`a lid which contains a plan or diagram of the
`seats of the theater from which the patrons
`can select the seats desired and the ticket
`pockets or tills of the cabinet are arranged
`correspondingly with the rows of seats on the
`diagram or plan so that the ticket seller can
`quickly select the desired tickets.
`With these objects in view and others, as
`will appear as the description proceeds, the
`invention comprises the various novel fea—
`tures of construction and arrangement of
`arts which will be more fully described
`hereinafter and set forth with particularity
`in the claims appended hereto.
`In the accompanying drawing, which illus~
`trates one - embodiment of
`the invention,

`the advantages of the construction and of the
`method of operation will be readily apparent
`to those skilled in the art to which the inven—
`tion appertains, and while I have described
`the principle of the invention, together with
`the device Vhich I now consider to be the
`best embodiment thereof, I desire to have it
`understood that the device shown is merely
`illustrative, and that such changes may be
`made when desired as are within the scope of
`the claims appended hereto.
`Having thus described. the invention, What
`I claim is :—
`1. A combined ticket holder and seat
`indicator for theaters and the like compris-
`ing a cabinet, a cover for the cabinet, a dia—
`gram of the seats on the outer face of the
`cover, ticket pockets in the cabinet arranged
`in correspondence with the rows of seats

`2. In a dev1ce of the class described, the
`combination of a cabinet, a lid hingedly
`mounted thereon, a diagram or seat indicator 25
`on the lid, ticket compartments in the cabi—
`net lettered to correspond with the rows of
`seats on the indicator, the said pockets being
`arranged in accordance with the rows of seats
`of the indicator, and a cover forprotecting 30
`the indicator when the device is not in use.
